They just did exactly that in Old Orchard Beach, a town near here that has been majorly F'ed up. A couple groups sponsored recall elections and six of the seven council members were replaced. Now to see if it makes a difference.

That's all well and good for a small town in Maine. The pervasive, pigheaded attitude in Detroit going all the way back to Mayor Coleman Young (whose thuggish wheeling and dealing would make both Kwame and Rahm blush) is that all white people are rich Republican bigots whose opinions on the inner city's government are to be dismissed and ridiculed as "racist". So, after three decades of this kind of "leadership" and groupthink, this is why Detroit is getting an emergency dictator.

almost a **** shame we didn't have Cell phones and texting back in Coleman's day. Lord knows what kind of filth that would have turned up on him like it did on Kwame. God, the things he would have texted about Bill Bonds to his friends.

You don't muck with (or mock) the anthem. It's also considered in bad form to grab your crotch after your sing(?) the anthem.

It's the USA's national song. We stand for it, remove our caps and place our hands over our hearts, all in respect for our country. If you don't show respect for the National Anthem, or mock it, or disgrace it, I have no sympathy for you.

Cornell fans have been attaching suck after the word night for years for a cheap shot at Clarkson.

As do Union fans after the word "red", and RPI fans after "you" (some wait after "see") and "night" depending on who we're playing (there's always one desperate-for-attention Dutchman).

I'm sorry, but from the "been there, done that" file, I don't blame the officers one bit for shooting a 130 pound Rottie that was lunging at them.

Swain said Rosby stopped in the intersection with music blaring from his windows. Officers told him to turn down the music because they were trying to hear what was happening down the street. Rosby pulled forward, parked and got out with his dog, but left the music still playing loudly.

"It's distracting the officers," Swain said. "It's interfering with what they are able to hear. It's not just a party call. It's an armed robbery call. The officers need to hear what's going on with the people being called out of the residence. That music in his car is bleeding over and it's distracting them."
