You read the piece and you come away with tremendous admiration for the dedication and resourcefulness of the law enforcement types who busted these guys.

I know a couple of guys back home that were involved in kiddie porn investigations. I investigated horrendous traffic accidents, but they couldn't have paid me enough to do their jobs.

It must be tough to wall that stuff off. But kid victims have to be the worst. You see that sick sh*t and somehow don't kill the sob's responsible. My old man was a chest cutter. Which meant occasionally he had to open somebody up for an exploratory and discover there was nothing he could do. Which led to the inevitable conversation with spouses and next of kin. One thing's for sure: we never, ever watched doctor shows on TV.

That, OP, would depend on what kind of finishing you have on those internal steel components. Are they stainless and therefore don't need any finishing? Are they plated, or has said plating worn off?

Sure, it wouldn't matter much if you could get some airflow in there until you've properly dried the thing, but we wouldn't want that innocent wood chipper to get all rusty.

I think you'd run the risk of getting tendons and such wrapped up in the rotating parts, which would have to get cleaned out or it would start to stink to high heaven.
