Evidently the Boy Scouts has the same propensity to cover up for pedophiles and ephebophiles that the Roman Catholic Church does. Apart from the damage done to innocent boys, what normal man would want to associate himself, even tangentially, with such filth? And just so we're clear, I don't associate pedophelia with homosexuality. Most pedophiles, as I understand it, are attracted to girls. And some don't have a preference, they'll abuse whatever comes along.

When I lived in Texas, the debate about whether students should be paddled in school was never ending. And it seemed like far too many parents resorted to this kind of punishment in their homes (annecdotal, no hard data). My view is that you simply shouldn't hit teenagers. In this case, the girl is handicapped, too. Jebus. A swat on the fanny for a toddler reaching for a pot on the stove is a different matter. I would imagine that at least some public high schools in Texas continue the practice of paddling, probably with written consent of the parents. This is a cultural thing which people from the Northeast simply cannot understand. I'm from the midwest and I don't understand it. My old man used to tell me to go down in the basement to await my fate. While I was sweating bullets, he and my mother would have a martini. Ultimately, he'd announce the reprieve and we'd have dinner.

When I worked in Omaha there was a terrible tragedy where a teenager shot and killed his father, for no apparant reason. Turns out the father was a bit of an ogre. The Omaha paper described his "assortment of paddles," and described how the boy had been forced to write 500 times that he was a thief, because he had "stolen" a candy bar from the kitchen. A good rule of thumb: you shouldn't be permitted to do to a child what you're not permitted to do to a pet.

The Internet freaking delivered. DA and CPS have been notified and are investigating, as have pretty much every news organization in the state and the national news. Phones at home and office have been disconnected, and looks like they got some pizzas as well.

Apparently statute of limitations on this sort of thing is 10 years after the victim's 18th birthday. She's now 23.

This guy's going down HARD. Stone cold pwnage move by the daughter, and I can't blame her one bit. Karma's a *****, and her name is Hillary Adams.

Yahoo has the story on their front page today. In it they state the Rangers have been called in to investigate as well. A great comment below the article said they need to call in the other Texas Rangers and let a few of them take some swings at the guy with a bat. See how he likes getting beaten.

I liked Jesse. He wasn't the prototypical elected official, but the way the repubs and DFLers in the state would grind their teeth and act all snobby about him made his time here so satisfying.

You're welcome to him. At least he didn't wear size 53 shoes and a big, red nose. I just hope he's serious about leaving the country. And he can take that prik Alec Baldwin with him. The truth of the matter is this probably is just a publicity stunt for the mouth breathers who watch that stupid show of his.

It would be far more entertaining than having that moron finally "get to the bottom of" the JFK assassination. Here's a question for you: why are libtards so prone to making things personal?
