Sorry, I mis-called it the Stars and Bars. I meant to refer to the Battle Flag. The Stars and Bars is not the flag we're all thinking of, the Stars and Bars was a cheap knockoff of the US Flag.

You will forgive my mistake, though, I am not the level of deep historian as those who claim their fascination with the Battle Flag only has to do with their deep and abiding love of Confederate history.

Oh absolutely. I agree that none of them would draw any of the three. It seems as though they'll accidentally know the name of one, however. ;)

The battle flag, as seen in the above mentioned TV show about a Dodge Charger living in rural Georgia, and also seen at NASCAR races, is just the corner of the actual Confederate flags, per Kepler's link.

The battle flag design can also be seen in the state flag of Mississippi.

Yeah they somehow managed to pick the 3 dumbest ones they could to be the official flags. I mean, from a pure design standpoint, the Battle Flag is way better than "US Flag ripoff" or 2 versions of "Battle Flag with extra crap added".

I assumed that's what you meant when I wrote about. I don't mind that people misname it because it's a very common mistake and also everything involving the CSA is SO F-CKING STUPID. Just pile it all up in the center of America and light it on fire (who's gonna notice in Missouri?), and the people still fixated on it can jump in.

True, but the Coat of Arms is badas-s, albeit embarrassingly like "Nazi George Washington" (which, ya know, fitting).

I love how they owned their losing by changing the flag design. The second flag was "our battle flag and a giant white field" and then they transitioned to "our battle flag and a giant white field stained with our blood."

Srsly, when I see that sticker on a car my first thought is always, "what the hell is that poor guy doing down here?"

I like our flag enough, but because of the history of our we were "formed" and because to me it's more aesthetically pleasing (this will never happen) I'd love to revert to this.
