Re: NHL Playoffs 2013: Shut up, Pierre...

Torts called Richards on the phone to tell him he wouldn't be playing tonight.

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013: Shut up, Pierre...

Brad Richards the $6.6M scratch. Maybe the best coaching that Torts has done all postseason. Money well spent by Sather. :(

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013: Shut up, Pierre...

And the Dolans should call Torts and Sather to tell them that they won't employed after Bruins sweep them tonight. :D

Oh sure, the Bruins may sweep the Rangers tonight, but on the other hand Torts will have a full summer to work on being evasive and condescending in his post-game press conferences for his new team.

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013: Shut up, Pierre...

I agree with all of this. Add into that Torts inability/refusual to make any type of in-game changes outside of throwing out line combinations of whoever is sitting close to him.

So true. When you are the home team and you can't match their fourth line and that's the line that beats you, you were horribly outcoached.

Anyone with any amount of insight into MSG says that Dolan absolutely loves Sather, so his dismissal isn't about to happen anytime soon. :( However, I do believe it is the coaches job to get the most out of the players he is given and I no longer think Torts is capable of doing that with the NYR.

I know. And Dolan drove the Knicks into the ground for so many years (and he actually wanted to hire Isiah Thomas back!). There's a reason New Yorkers hate him.

True, sad yet very true. A would bet my last dollar that a DIII team could at the very least hold the offensive zone longer and create more shots.

I would bet my last dollar that when Potsdam had Chris Lee (who scored an exhibition game winning goal for the Islanders against ... you guessed it ... Boston), they would definitely outscore the Rangers against Boston on the PP. Heck, all they need to do is score ONE and I win the bet...

If Torts does get fired, he won't be able to tell Larry Brooks to get the bleep out of here.

All this drama with the Rangers today guarantees they will win tonight.
