NHL 2026: The Olympics Will Be Mammoth!

They’ve basically only taken on Bjugstad’s contract. He just had pec surgery and is expected to be out up to six months, and he’s 34.

This is exactly why the Senators moved Tkachuk the second he said he wanted a trade.

As a GM it might feel like you still have a shred of leverage, but you just don’t. Move them. Yesterday.

So what is Larkin's deal? Is this a case of angling for a better contract and career prospects, like Lindros? Because Lindros seemed like a prick at first too but it all worked out and he turned out to be a mensch.

Or is Larkin a diva way over his skis? Was he like this before the NHL too? Does he have a difficult stage parent, or an agent playing hardball and he's just a dupe?

Hockey is such a community. It's rare to see somebody be such a complete ass clown and destroy his reputation as a teammate. I mean unless he has some sort of serious psychological disorder and we should be concerned.

Him and Hellebuyck both did the same act. Came back from the Olympics and suddenly hated their teams.

This is just my opinion, with no background. While he came to Michigan, it was just for one year, so never had any idea of what he was like over time.

IMHO, he's just afraid of failing, and really hates it when he's held accountable for when the team doesn't live up to expectations. Worse when people can directly point at HIM for much of that fall off. He's the captain, and really does deserve the responsibility of some of the team's fall off at the end of the season, he's also the star and also has to deal with his own drop off that contributed to the team's drop off.

Which is exactly why he wants to go to a team surrounded by success, so he doesn't get any of the blame and doesn't have to act like a captain.

For sure, not the kind of player I'd want on my team- all "contribution" and no responsibility.

Not sure how much it makes it worse that it's his home that is laying all of the criticism over the past seasons. But the thin skin this season is kinda sad.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has ruled that the IIHF must allow Russia back into its championships immediately. To say that it has caused chaos is an understatement.
