NHL 2026: The Olympics Will Be Mammoth!

Had to chuckle when I read this,
Knoblauch had signed a three-year extension in October that had yet to officially kick in, and the Oilers will be on the hook to pay him that money as well as a new coach's contract.
 
Speaking of Vegas and Torts…

The National Hockey League announced today that, as a result of flagrant violations of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs Media Regulations following Game 6 of their Second Round series against the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday, May 14, the Vegas Golden Knights will forfeit a second-round pick in the 2026 Upper Deck NHL Draft.



In addition, Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella has been fined $100,000.



The imposition of these penalties comes after previous warnings were issued to the Club regarding their compliance with the Media Regulations and other associated policies.

supposedly, and I have not heard firm confirmation - that Torts skipped the media as he was pissed about McNabb being suspended.


i, too, am mad torts. But I'm mad about the fucking brain damage to the guy who was trucked needlessly from across the ice.

It wasn’t just Torts, the whole team refused to talk to the media. Now, there’s stories coming out from the Vegas media about how many times they’ve done this crap.

At the World Championships, USA Goalie Joseph Woll was pulled after giving up 5 goals on 9 shots. In his two starts Woll has given up 8 goals on 28 shots.

Meanwhile Canada is just casually playing Celebrini and Crosby together.
 
There was a Jersey discussion on Reddit yesterday that spun off into a logo discussion. Someone brought up that they didn’t realize for the longest time the Devils logo has NJ on it. I don’t know how that’s possible, that’s literally all the logo is. It’s like saying you don’t see the LA in the Dodgers logo. If you don’t see the NJ then it’s just a nonsense drawing with devil horns.

There are people who never saw the M or B in the Brewers ball and glove logo.

Pretty sure there are people on this board who still can't see trees, the north star, or a river in the Minnesota Wild logo.

But the M and B are hidden elements at least. It’s a glove first, so I can see that. The Devils logo isn't the Jersey Devil with NJ hidden somewhere, it’s just NJ.

The Wild seems to split the population between those who see the bear but no scenery, and those who think it’s just landscape and don’t see the bear outline.
