NHL 2019-20 #1: Where Toronto Plans To Win Without Playing Defense.

I think we're more like Chelsea FC.

Took me a day, though.

Who is this Mike Hoffman and why were there so many tweets about what the deal he signed with St. Louis?

A good forward whose wife Monika Caryk was caught cyberbulliying Melinda Karlsson, wife of NHL forward Erik Karlsson... while Mike and Erik were teammates in Ottawa.

Mike was traded like a bad penny after the incident was brought to light in Ottawa.

Seems Blues Twitter has had a hard on for someone like Mike (or himself) signing with the Blues and it finally happened.

Sergei Federov was so ridiculously hawt. *fans self*

Is that 8? Cuz 8's the only guy in that photo who looks even remotely like a non-deviant human specimen (he is cute in a Peter Welleresque way).

Edit: Oh Jeez, the top guy? He looks like Homelander. We will never fight over the same man.

You get chuck todd.

San Jose is +1300 to win the Pacific Division this season. That means if you bet $100 on the Sharks to win the division, you lose $100.

The NHL is planning to play two outdoor games on the shores of Lake Tahoe in Nevada this February, The Athletic's Scott Burnside confirmed. The league aims to build a rink on the golf course of the Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Stateline, Nevada. The Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights would play there Feb. 20, and the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers would play on Feb. 21.

Good news: NHL brings back named divisions!

Bad news: they're sponsors. Get ready for the Discover Central Division playoffs sponsored by Geico!
From reddit:
"Oh boy I can't wait for Scotiabank Hometown Hockey between two Scotiabank NHL North Division rivals: the Calgary Flames, sponsored by Scotiabank, and the Toronto Maple Leafs, also sponsored by Scotiabank, played in Scotiabank Arena."

The way they're branding themselves on everything, Scotiabank and Rogers will one day be the official sponsors of Parliament.

Normally, I'd hate it, but given that it probably helps with lost revenues due to the pandemic and will help keep people employed, I'm OK with it.

I just hope they go back to non-sponsors when this is over.

Genie is out of the bottle. The NHL is gonna look like the AHL from here on out. Jersey sponsorship on game jerseys is next...

... which is gonna be a big boost to collectors who can now tell what was game worn and what's just authentic a lot easier.
