Re: NHL 2016.1 -- Anyone have a Laine on a new Auston?

Jesus God, this does not sound good.

Question: What is a neuro ICU?

Answer: A neuro intensive care unit comprises an area of the hospital devoted to a team of specially trained physicians, nurses, therapists and other professionals. They are outfitted with equipment to assess, monitor and treat patients with disorders or injuries of the brain or spinal cord.

A neuro ICU is generally found only in large, major medical centers. It is reserved for the most seriously ill or injured patients. The staff must manage extremely complicated conditions with risks of death or disability that often require experts from multiple medical disciplines to diagnose and treat.

Q: Why would a patient be admitted to the neuro ICU?

A: Stroke, either from a blockage in an artery in the brain or a rupture from a hemorrhage, is a common disorder that lands patients in the units. But neuro ICUs also care for an array of other issues, including epilepsy, brain infections such as meningitis and encephalitis, degenerative disorders like Parkinson's disease, and brain tumors.

No details because HIPAA. Here's hoping he's in there for observation only.

Big props to Arizona for playing The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" when Hanzal scored.

Red Wings are playing the Devils today at the last game at the Joe.

On a related note, I remember when I made a $10 bet with Brent on which team would make it further in the playoffs. That was 9-10 years ago...

I love that Konstantinov still gets the loudest cheers of anyone when he comes to Wings games.

See ya, Joe. Will miss you, the history, and the memories. But am happy and excited to move on.

Only got to go to the Joe once, for the 2006 CCHA finals.

While I was there, I loved walking around and seeing all the Red Wings history.

Re: NHL 2016.1 -- Anyone have a Laine on a new Auston?

I went around six times. Only once was for the Wings, back in 2001 or 02, and I believe they beat the Rangers 3-2 or 2-1. That was also the only time I went when it was over 60% capacity. Went to the first Big Ten Tourney they held in Detroit, that might've been lucky to be at 15%. The others were GLIs.

First and probably only time I'll ever see an awarded goal. MSU committed a hook with the goalie pulled so they just put one on the board for UM.

Don't much care about the Joe, but it was cool to see Bickell score on his last ever NHL play.

What a great night to send JLA off. It was fun to be a part of the farewell.

The wife and I were late to the game (bought tickets at 11am and hauled *ss to Detroit from Chicago), but as we walked up the steps we had to stop as some Wings alumni were on the steps having group photos taken. :D

What an awesome night and totally worth the lack of sleep tomorrow at work!!
