NHL 2016.1 -- Anyone have a Laine on a new Auston?

Bruins fire Claude Julien. Presser at 1130, in the middle of the Pats parade.

Bruce Cassidy in.
Was more surprised it didn't happen at the end of last season. A few weeks ago Sweeney said everything was on the table so you had to figure the firing was only a matter of time.

Cassidy an interim hire btw.

Wow, that's kind of shameful with regards to the timing.
Right after the Patriots won the Suberb Owl, my Twitter timeline was filled with "Ra-Ra Patriots" right next to "If Claude Julien is going to get let go, tonight or parade day is the window to do it."

It seemed to be the main consensus to bury the news as much as they could.

Re: NHL 2016.1 -- Anyone have a Laine on a new Auston?

So the Blackhawks really want to end their regular season losing streak to the Wild. Both games this year so far have been the 2nd night of back-to-backs for Minny. :D

Plan the parade!!

:)

I was at that game last night. Drove over to watch. He was run over by two Moose players in his crease, flopped around on his back trying to track the loose puck, finally gathered himself, then at the next stoppage he motioned to the bench to remove himself.

Hoping it was just precautionary, but I fear that his season (hopefully not career too) is over.

He's scheduled to see the team doctor this evening in Detroit, and there were plans to have him fly out to Iowa for the Griffins games Friday and Saturday.

Hopefully he can rebound to make the best of his career, like Kari Lehtonen has.

Just finishing listening to Cam Neely on Felger and Mazz, the Bruins are so ***. Clueless. Does not even remotely get it.

Loved him on the ice. One of my favorite players ever. But he has no business running and NHL team. The old saying of one guy is playing chess while the others are playing checkers? Neely is playing tic-tac-toe. I don't think he even knows he's not doing what he should be doing, it's all just management by bluster, bullying, intimidation. Comes across as a complete turd, and that's how the B's look on the ice.

Coyle touched the puck; Parise was offside; Toronto missed the call.

Discuss.

Garbage, unless the laws of physics don't apply in The X. (Why'd the puck stop moving.)

Hard to argue that they didn't blow that call.

I can understand where they miss a call in real time like the Wild player being pushed into Crow or the interference on Hammer that led to a Wild goal, but to miss a replay call like that boggles the mind.

NHL gonna NHL

Re: NHL 2016.1 -- Anyone have a Laine on a new Auston?

He very well may have been offside, but the review was inconclusive vs. the call on the ice is probably how it went down. My guess is they couldn't tell when Coyle touched it relative to the position of Parise.

Anyway hope there are more entertaining games between them left this year.

That was a good game.

Wild showed a lot by not folding at 2-0 and in fact, they took it to the Hawks after that.

Hawks still have closers though.

They also screwed the Wild over in OT. Calls are missed every game. But, in this case, the evidence was inconclusive or they would have reversed the call. To not believe that is to believe in conspiracies that do not exist.

CHI probably won't see a lot of Kemps in the playoffs should they meet. ;)
