A poplular Hawks Facebook page, Joel Quenneville's Mustache, has stated that the Hawks/Wild will play a Stadium Series game in Minnesota next year.... Usually there are pretty close on things like this.... It's a legit source...


I'd be game for a road trip :o

It's sad, but when you have the largest bandwagon in the league, it brings $$$$$$.... How else do you sell 35-60k seats at $150+?

It's not like you can expect Florida to be a part of this anytime soon....

Who wouldn't tune into a Panthers/Lightning game from the Everglades National Park parking lot? The chance that an alligator would wander up and try to eat the players or fans? :D


I'm rooting for Jets / Flames in a Stadium Series game.

At Turner Field. :eek: :D

I don't know...

Do you think they need the Hawks involved to sell tickets in Minnesota? I like to think they'd sell out regardless.


Certainly the Hawks would help with TV ratings, but these Stadium Series games are on regional broadcasts, aren't they?

Easy, you're the Wings and Leafs and you sell 105k seats at $150+ ;)

Fwiw, Hawks fans are about as sick of seeing the Hawks in these games as everyone else.

I know I am.

I believe it was mentioned here before, but the league wanted the opponent to be the Stars and the Wild owner requested/insisted that it be the Hawks.


I hope the Gophers/Sioux game happens.

We won one a couple years ago...... against the Sharks. That doesn't really count, does it? I'm going to go ahead and blame Seabrook for last season, even if it doesn't entirely make sense. The issue is a lot less winning playoff series (see Colorado, Minnesota) and a lot more a lack of superstars. T.J. Oshie is probably our biggest nationally known star, but the Olympic hype can only last so long. Among diehard hockey fans, guys like Backes, Steen, Pietrangelo, and Tarasenko are widely recognized as being star level talents, but they don't have the national recognition.

In any case, I don't see how a Hawks-Blues game at Busch doesn't sell out, even if more than half of the fans are from Chicago. They only have to fill 43k seats, and the Chicago market can more than carry national ratings. Wysh from PD made the point that if it weren't Busch Stadium, we might have better luck playing a Coors Stadium Series game.

Great idea one of my friends post to my facebook for an outdoor game.

Arizona- Florida in Quebec City. Winner chooses to stay or leave....
