Vladamir Tarasenko with straight filth.
Pretty sure I've only seen that move in shootouts.

GameCenter's not showing it. What happened??Leafs Daniel Winnik taken off the ice on a backboard after landing on his head less than a minute into the game in Denver. Scary situation and you could hear a pin drop in the Pepsi Center.

NHL heavily hinting at jersey sponsorship patches coming soon. Hockey Twitter/Bloggers collectively lost their minds. (Except for our own Mr. Joe Yerdon, who dislocated his shoulder patting himself on the back for calling this over two months ago.)
This move doesn't surprise me, and most AHL teams have had some form of jersey sponsorship for years (or decades). The Chicago Wolves have had Kia, Grand Rapids Griffins with Cintas, Milwaukee Admirals with the Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Marlies with McDonalds, etc. Most of the patches are no bigger than a 3x5 index card, with most being much smaller than that.
NHL teams dabbled with this by having their teams wear similarly sized patches on their practice jerseys, of which the bloggers/writers lost their minds but I never read negative backlash from fans. Maybe they didn't complain because they haven't seen the jerseys in use since the jerseys are for practice only.
If the NHL adopts the AHL teams methods of jersey patches, no one is going to care in a few years.
Plus, sponsorship patches will make spotting game worn jerseys a hell of a lot easier.
Agree with your prediction. The patch can't "take over" the jersey by being too prominent. If it crosses that line, there will be pushback. But every NHL team logo should be more prominent than an index card ad....most AHL teams have had some form of jersey sponsorship for years (or decades)... It's a great thought, but I have my doubts. Years ago I used to think the same thing about Anniversary patches, Playoff patches and the like. But as it has played out, authentic grade jerseys commonly include them. In other cases, the patch can be purchased separately and sewn on by the fan. Serious fans want exact reproductions. And it's hard to see why the sponsor would object. They'd likely make a few coins on each patch sold, and get a little free marketing to boot.Plus, sponsorship patches will make spotting game worn jerseys a hell of a lot easier.
Sarcasm Meter Reading=Moderate to HighWhat's wrong with going full Euro and have each player (and referee) a skating billboard? The additional HRR should make the players happy.
Sarcasm Meter Spikes Off The ScaleImagine the Bruins with instead of the spoked B in front with a big Dunkin Donuts logo.
Sarcasm Meter Strangely Silent...Purists will go ape poop but the millions to the Bruins would stop any objections that the Jacobs may have.

Surprise surprise, Backstrom isn't any good without a trap-happy team in front of him.

The word only does not belong in front of "allowed 3 goals". Especially on only 17 shots.
When the Wild's scoreline is "0"...who cares how many their goalie let in.
Because it only doesn't matter in hindsight. The goalie's play can have influence on how the team plays in front of him.
The offense looked good again and got a ton of chances. Anderson was awesome and shut them out. Therefore, Backstrom letting in soft goals on the other end of the ice must not be criticised. Got it.
