Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

I think they have done a pretty good job staggering the game times simply based on time zone rather than what's the more attractive game. Now, that certainly comes into play when determining what will be on CNBC vs. NBS Sports Network. But if Detroit wins and is playing Montreal, those games are going to start at either 7 or 7:30. And based on NBC's past, take a look at the regular season. Are there ever Canadian teams involved in the NBC game of the week? I think NBC is more interested in New York-Washington and Chicago-Minnesota.

The weekend day games will be Chicago-Minnesota and Rangers-Washington. More than likely Rangers at noon on Saturday because it will kick off NBC's coverage for the rest of the day. Remember: if there's OT it gets bumped to NBCSN so NBC can show the festival of outrageous hats and beautiful people at Churchill Downs. It will also leave the Canadiens for Hockey night in Canada. Sunday at 3PM (eastern) will be Blackhawks-Wild leaving Ducks-Flames for the NBCSN/CBC crowd. Nothing official of course, but that is the lineup that makes the most sense, regardless of who wins game 7 tomorrow. If they want to alternate East-West, then move the Canadiens to Sunday night and Flames to Saturday, though that messes up the whole "Hockey Night in Canada" thing since they're on the left coast.
They could flip the US market games but the earliest Chicago-Minnesota could start would be 1PM eastern and that puts the game that much closer to hat time.

NBC must be airing golf on Sunday. It's the Match-Play championship.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

Kronwall gets 1 game suspension.

Of all the things they could have suspended this first round, they choose THAT.

Clown show in NYC.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

Was gonna say...

From what i've heard he's lucky he only got one

I'm not saying it wasn't worthy of a suspension, 1 game probably fits (he has never been suspended previously).

However, in the same series, let alone the first round, there have been numerous other offenses that should have been looked at as well.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

The refs have swallowed their whistles in the playoffs so far and the league has been sleeping on the hits for sure. Doesn't excuse Mr launch at the guy's head Kronwall though.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

So, I've been out of town for work, not really having time to catch up on who's won what. Is the Detroit-Tampa series over? It seems like it's been four days since they last played.
