NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

Ducks will be out in the 1st round. Wings make a surprising run to the ECF, but fall short of playing for the Cup. The crowd in Nashville will be at least 1/3 Chicago fans, despite the team's best efforts to only sell seats to locals. Blues/Wild will go to 7 and be the series to watch.

And Tampa will also have more Red in it than they think. Enough snowbirds still in Florida who can buy tickets with Florida billing address. Or transplants, like myself.

I tend to agree with the predictions you list, although I'm far from sold on wings going through. Hope so, but it'll be tough.

before the stanley cup playoffs begin tomorrow and before everyone goes around in half-assed fashion making picks as to which team will win the cup this year, it's time to look at some of the most salient points fans gleaned from last year's playoffs.

The heart wants what it wants:

Blues vs Wild:Blues in 4 games.
Predators vs Blackhawks: Blackhawks in 4 games.
Ducks vs Jets: Jets in 4 games.
Canucks vs Flames: Flames in 4 games.

Canadiens vs Senators: Canadiens in 4 games.
Lightning vs Red Wings: red Wings in 4 games.
Rangers vs Penguins: Rangers in 4 games.
Capitals vs Islanders: Islanders in 3 games. Final game is forfeited when Caps disband due to the beating they've taken.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

There are two--and only two--foolproof methods for correctly predicting the outcome of series in Stanley Cup play. They are, of course, consulting the Magic 8 Ball and flipping a coin. Having done both, I am now prepared to go out on a limb and saw it off behind me by picking the New York Rangers to beat the Chicago Blackhawks in the finals. Now drop the puck!

You know what sucks? Having to be up at 4:45am for work during the NHL playoffs  Let the fun begin!

On the upside, at least Nashville is a Central Time Zone team.

I do have to say that after enjoying the late night Pacific Time Zone Red Wings games in college, this whole being an East Coast team certainly helps my sleep schedule. ;)

And yet we still get the 8:30pm CST start on Friday :(

I think that guy needs a better editor.

"In three games against the Blues, Dubnyk is (2-1-0, 2.62 GAA, and .918 SV%) against the Blues this season."

I'm hearing reports that Pierre McGuire is tanned, well-rested and ready to provide lots of dated, mind-numbing, jabbering from Inside the Glass. Geez, be a shame if he got hit by a stray puck or something.
