An oops of the oops

@rwesthead: #patrickkane accuser’s lawyer quits representing her. Says at presser there “may have been some fabrications concerning the (rape kit) bag."

Seems he believed his client, but suspected the mother was up to some shenanigans. Only ethical thing to do in that situation is get the heck outta there.

So, can we officially call this a cash grab yet?

Then there is a plot twist, and a plot twist, and another plot twist...

What a terrible circus. :(

Regardless of the resolution after today's events, you can bet that whenever Kane is on the ice at Blackhawks road games this year, there will be a contingent of herp-a-derps who think they're being funny with a "NO MEANS NO!" chant.

"What are you afraid of, Kane? You've got this in the bag!"

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

One thing about the new 3 x 3 OT rule that I'm curious to see play out is how they handle a line change. On one hand you may very well need them sooner since the pace is so much faster, on the other, how can you find the time / space to do so with everything moving so fast?

I suppose you can just keep deliberately icing the puck and not bother chasing....

I can also see a tactical decision to keep two skaters in the defensive zone at all times/most of the time (that is one way to handle a line change, I guess...). It will be interesting to see how coaches respond.

The game will be faster because there's so much more room to move during 3x3. At the same time, dumping the puck without icing it will be easier since there is so much more room and that will give your players the chance they need to get to the bench. Just don't do a yard sale when it comes to making the change and things should be fine.

who cares about funny, I'd be interested to do that just to get him off his game

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Wait that article says they will NOT call the games from a studio

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Then the story was updated since I posted it. Good of MLSE to realize the folly.
I think it was TSN and Sportsnet that changed their minds
the decision was made by the stations, because the Leafs still have the ban in place
It's a byproduct of the cluster fark of the ownership situation and having the games on two radio networks.

FWIW, BTN calls games "off-tube". In Dec 2013, I went all the way to Trento Italy to call hockey, skiing and curling from the broadcast center at the World University Games. It was the first and hopefully last time I did that. But on the upside, the arena up in the mountains was colder than a meat locker.

Raffi Torres suspended 41 games for his hit on Silfverberg. He's gotta be done, right?
