So, this craptacular Hawk's team can't make an appearance against the Wild? You have the best center and forward in the NHL. Play like it.

Another very entertaining game tonight. Thought Hawks were a bit of the better team but the Bolts converted one more time late with Paquette getting the game winner with around 3 minutes to go. Hossa missed a completely wide open net in the first while being tripped and I said that will haunt them. I was hoping to be wrong. Game 3 Wednesday night.

Bolts get home ice back.

How does it feel losing to a goalie on 1 good leg?
Wouldn't know, that wasn't the feeling tonight.

Have my doubts about the nature and extent of the "injury." The Bolts are playing the mind game on this pretty well, aided and abetted by non-stop NBC commentary indicating he's all but crippled. But to my eye Bishop actually got a little stronger as the game went on.

What doesn't feel good is playing a decent game, but losing to a team that appears to be hungrier; and more able to pounce on momentary lapses. The Callahan goal came off a home run pass. Giving up a goal immediately after scoring speaks for itself. Again.

These Hawks have shown they play their best when their backs are against the wall. Regrettably they have yet another opportunity to live up to that reputation.

Time for Sharp to sit. The clincher was when he gave up the middle on the rush that resulted in the winning goal.

Time for Kane to show up. Hossa and Saad were the two best Hawks last night. By a lot.

Having said all that, I think this team thrives on having their backs against the wall. I expect tomorrow's 19 shot period effort to result in 3 goals. (That was the killer last night. Only getting 1 in the first.)

Game 3 Wednesday night.

Are they giving the 'Hawks a re-do on Game 3? You guys didn't play so hot, and Bishop's leg clearly isn't as sh***y as the Lightning are claiming, so we're just going to give you a mulligan on this one. Because, hey, it's already golf season for most of the league!

NBC Sports boss says players should shave.

Can't get past the Trib firewall to get to the original story.

The players won’t like this, but I wish they all would stop growing beards in the postseason,” Lazarus said. “Let’s get their faces out there. Let’s talk about how young and attractive they are. What model citizens they are. (Hockey players) truly are one of a kind among professional athletes.

“I know it’s a tradition and superstition, but I think (the beards do) hurt recognition. They have a great opportunity with more endorsements. Or simply more recognition with fans saying, ‘That guy looks like the kid next store,’ which many of these guys do. I think that would be a nice thing.

Good timing. Manon is going to be the subject of a biopic. ;)

Awesome. Gonna have to check that out. IIRC (obviously, it's been YEARS), that was a huge deal in MN, because of the female HS hockey players here. A big reason the MN girls were so good, was they were playing with the boys' teams for so long. Manon's quest was a monster milestone.
