NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

You know what? Fu** Tony Granato. He's the Red Wings Defensemen and PK coach, and with one foot out the door, it's pretty obvious that he doesn't care what happens to the Wings this post season.

Crawford may not be able to keep Tarasenko from scoring, but I tip my hat to Crawford for taking no schit when one of the Blues skates through the crease and crashes into him. Nice to see Crawford go after the guy. That should fire up the Hawks.

The PK sure was a disaster tonight.

And of course, I got stuck sitting next to That Guy who thinks he can coach the team from the stands.

Even worse, it appears some fans need a lesson in Octopi-Throwing Etiquette. The only acceptable times to throw the 'pi are immediately after the Wings' first goal of the game, and immediately after a go-ahead goal. Not in the final minute of the game (three times!), delaying the progress of play. I would have no problem with the league issuing bench minors for delay of game to any team whose fans throw any object onto the ice in the final minute of regulation.

And since when did we become f*ing Flyers fans, throwing drinks on the ice after the final buzzer? Buncha embarrassing nonsense that was, too.

But hey, the way things are going and the way the Wings are trending, that could easily be the last playoff game at the Joe. So I'm glad I shelled out the big bucks for the good seats and went.

This. All of it.

Trolled the Lightning Facebook page a bit, saying Bishop was the victim of a sniper in JLA. Bolts fans were a sensitive bunch with that one ;)

Blues simply want it more.

You can assemble talent, but will can and does beat skill.

Series isn't over, but the Hawks just don't seem to have the will this year. The mental push that is required to win in the meat grinder that is the NHL playoffs.

I won't count this team out though. They've shown a ton of sack over the years and if anyone can do it, these Hawks can.

And I don't blame Shaw for tonight. Not even a little. He was easily the best Hawk tonight.

Wish we had 6 of him.

Immediately after (AFTER!) the anthem is okay too.

F that.

I get that there is a plausibility (especially in the heat of the moment) for Crawford to not know that Fabbri was pushed from behind by Toews, but even then Fabbri appeared to do everything he could to avoid contact, and IMO did nothing wrong there.

How, at the end of that scrum, Fabbri ends up with a GI while Crawford gets nothing AND the Blackhawks had a PP is beyond me.

You could probably blame him for one or two things...

Wait, when did this happen? I thought it was first goal, period.

That's the only time I would do it (if I ever brought one in, which I haven't :p). But, I would say after a go-ahead goal is acceptable. In the final minute of the game is pi55 poor fan behavior, period.

Are you kidding? EoDS already covered my thoughts on that.

Shaw was both the best and the worst of the Hawks yesterday. He was undoubtedly responsible for multiple Hawks goals, but he completely shot you guys in the foot at the end. I'm honestly surprised he got dinged for the interference call late, but I imagine it was the culmination of a few things. Some Blues (namely Brouwer and Steen) definitely took liberties with him, presumably knowing he was the Hawk most likely to come unhinged when pushed.

As for the series, I can think of a time Chicago has come back from a 3-1 hole in recent years (though they had the benefit of home-ice in the Detroit series). I won't stop being worried about this series until the clock says 0:00 and the bigger number is next to the Blue Note.

Perfectly put, from beginning to end.

I partially dissent...

How, at the end of that scrum, Fabbri ends up with a GI while Crawford gets nothing AND the Blackhawks had a PP is beyond me.
...but must agree with your conclusion. The Hawks caught a break on that call.

Well, if you're looking to play a blame game, it could also be pointed out that vanRiemsdyk had the primary assist on the 3rd and 4th Blues' goals. And I suppose if your only real interest in the series is to root against the Blackhawks, finding Hawks to blame is where your mind inevitably goes.

But in the four games to date, the real story is the Blues are winning this series with superior goaltending by Elliot, wow-factor shooting by Tarasenko, and an impressive mix of discipline and hunger running through their entire roster. Forced error turnovers by vanRiemsdyk or frustration mistakes by Shaw are the effects of Blues' pressure, not the core cause of the Blackhawks' defeats.

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

I got thinking more about the Ericsson/Kronwall combo... Which made me bitter about 2013, and how Seabrook's shot from practically the blue line was tipped off Kronwall's leg just enough to go past Jimmy. The Wings haven't advanced past the first round since after that devastating Western Conference Semi-final loss.

*sigh* What could have been in 2013. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/2693631/seabrookwins.gif?_ga=1.112351492.1495941857.1457452173

You guys even got two chances at that game with the coincidental minor snafu.

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

Shaw gets a game and an invoice for $5,000.

I'm honestly surprised the league suspended him, though I'm certainly happy about it.

There's no comparison to be made between suspensions (or not) to White/Bellemare/Letang and Shaw. The former is made by DoPS, the latter by Hockey Ops.

Sure, a comparison can be made. DoPS is a a buffoon of a fraud, and these garbage incidents will continue until there's a clear standard and consistent suspensions accordingly.
