Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

Good Parise, I'm actually rooting for a Minnesota team tonight.c:eek:

Wilcox can only be signed by one team, Williams can be signed by anyone.
It's not a stretch to say Williams could go first if he gets the right offer from someone.

Exactly. I think he's another good year away, but you never now. Something to worry about hopefully after the beginning of April;)

p.s. I'd love for some NHL playoffs.

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

Interesting rumor developing: The Chicago Wolves will not be affiliated with the Vancouver Canucks next season. They will instead be the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues.

The Blues, who own the AHL affiliation used by the Peoria Rivermen, will sell the AHL rights to the Vancouver Canucks.

If true, that would mean the Canucks could then park their affiliation in Abbotsford. Where the Heat move to, well, Calgary has a history of turn and burning locations and Utica is rumored to be their next home.

Any word from the Wild how their farm club negotiations are going? Peoria would be closer than Houston and is already established as a minor league hockey town.

Wait, so the Rivermen would move to Abbotsford? I'm confused...

Like a twisted "Who's on First " skit, yes, you're right.

It's still just rumors, but they seem to be getting louder.

The only thing that's public so far is that Calgary sucks at keeping a team anywhere for long and the Canucks have stated they would love to be closer to home.

That just left the questions of "where do the Flames move their AHL affiliate, and which AHL franchise gets sold to the Canucks."

Some thought the Wild would sell their ownership of the Aeros (which is still possible), but the Blues have been looking to sell Peoria for a few years.

The real confusion comes from the fact that some AHL teams aren't owned by their NHL team (Chicago, Hershey) and people do get confused because NHL teams can't just up and move them without buying the franchise (Ie: GLM screwed this one up on NBC).

Binghamton is not owned by the Ottawa Senators either.
