They won't have time for training camps anyways once they do the 18 game schedule anyway.
Than they have to increase the salary cap to make room for paying for those extra 5-7 players, I would think it might be expanded a little bit to 55, but that all 55 could be active for any given game instead of the current setup. I highly doubt training camp goes away...actually here is my thoughts on the new schedule:If they do that, I don't see how they don't at least expand the rosters a little more, say 58 to 60, with another man or two on the practice squad as well.
2010 2011
Training Camp Starts Jul 31 Aug 6
Hall of Fame Game Aug 8 Aug 21
Last Preseason Game Sep 2 Sep 1
Regular Season Opener Sep 9 Sep 8
Last Regular Season Game Jan 2 Jan 15
Wild Card Weekend Jan 8 Jan 21
Division Playoffs Jan 15 Jan 28
Conference Championships Jan 23 Feb 5
Super Bowl Feb 6 Feb 19
They might have to expand the roster, just due to players getting banged up from the extra two games. Remember, they're adding two regular season games at the expense of two preseason games in which regulars play very little. They'll go from 16 regular + 4 preseason to 18 regular + 2 preseason.
I could see the NFLPA asking for too much in the way of salary cap room (meaning higher salaries for the stars), and I don't know if the owners will want to do that.

I didn't know this was a rule either (maybe it's new), but looking at the maps, what it would seem to be is that if a home team in city A is playing at 1pm on network B, then network C will be blacked out in a local area around city A at 1pm. Look at the Fox early game map - the areas that are blacked out (Boston, Buffalo, Nashville,Tampa, Jacksonville, Houston) are all the home teams in the CBS 1pm games. (I can't figure out why St. Louis doesn't get an early game; maybe due to a ticket sales issue?)"The no-game-against-home-team rule"? Never heard of that one.
This has always been a rule in some form. Back when you could get 4 games between CBS/Fox it was always that if your team was at home, you didn't get the doubleheader...now only one network a week gets to show 2 games in your market and if you're in your teams home market you only get that game at that time. It sucks for me as a packer fan in minnesota because under the old format if the packers and vikings weren't at the same time on the same network you definitely got the packers game...now if the vikings are at home its very unlikely I get the packers game at home.I didn't know this was a rule either (maybe it's new), but looking at the maps, what it would seem to be is that if a home team in city A is playing at 1pm on network B, then network C will be blacked out in a local area around city A at 1pm.
