NFL 2023-24. Now without Dan Snyder!

The Lions didn't sell out in the 50s when they were dominant and the city was huge and wealthy?

That is lame.

It’s actually the first time in Ford Field history, so 21 years.

I can’t find any actual history the last time they were sold out (yay SEO for ruining google), and a few internet comments have conflicting stories. One says there was a wait list the entire Silverdome era, another says he got tickets in the Silverdome with no wait. Another says they had to wait until the 2nd or 3rd season at FF for tickets, which would’ve implied selling out for at least the first season. So either they had fewer tickets held for season tickets in the Silverdome despite a larger capacity, or no one remembers anything correctly.

The NFL wasn't all that big in the 50s. People forget that. College football was bigger than the NFL for a very, very long time.

Heck, wasn’t big in the late 70s!!!

there is a YouTube channel that pieces together broadcasts in full (8-10hrs long (yes mookie watches)).
stands are half empty. Chiefs, packers, chargers, etc. MMMM-TTTTT

That’s why they had those TV blackout rules during those years.

Saw a map of the Packers preseason TV networks and thought it was odd Alaska was on there. Then looked up the other games and apparently Alaska and Hawaii just get like half the league televised. Seattle, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Rams, Chargers, Raiders in AK this week, Hawaii gets about the same plus the Colts, Chiefs, Eagles, Niners.

Kinda miss the old days when you could walk up to the box office on game days and get pretty good seats.

So one of the running backs finally signed. Wonder if this means more of them will. Horrible time to be a running back- short career, where most of it comes under a rookie deal, and then rookies can fill most of the veteran hole for a fraction of the cost.

U-Tree did a video talking about how RB's have basically become plug-n-play across the board. Basically the assets they used to possess are now also in the hands of QB's, so that's where the star power lies.

It's reported on Threads that Taylor Swift was asked to do the 2024 Super Bowl, and politely told the NFL "No."

It would also be the next day after playing four days straight at the Tokyo Dome.

I honestly think Taylor Swift is too big for the Super Bowl. She will end up doing it eventually, but she is the hottest thing right now and doesn't need them.
