The Vikings are rushing to find new QBs to try out for the backup jobs. One of them is a graduate of my old high school. I have to say, that came as a surprise.

That's how some colleges work, at least at the D3 level. All the SUNY schools fund their athletic teams with fees imposed on every student. In turn, they get into every sports event for free.

The surprise being that the Vikings recognized that it was probably important to have someone suit up as QB?

The most Vikings thing ever would be if we are somehow "good" and lose a playoff game because we can't field a team because of COVID protocols because our QB is a fucking loonball moron
