AB84: Partially torn calf muscle. Not expected back next week, but should be back for postseason, per Schefter.

He did bear weight on it once he hit sideline but that looked like a broken bone to me.

Jerry Richardson just announced he's putting the Panthers up for sale after the season. Amazing how he decides now is the time to sell just days after news of harassment settlements surfaced.

Pittsburgh has pretty good D, and they can't contain Gronk. Guy is a different kind of freak, but a freak like Moss.

Me too. It looked like it got whipped one direction from hitting the first defender's leg, straight into the other defender's leg, where it got whipped back the opposite direction. Right about mid-shin, just above the ankle.

Re: NFL 2017: With Dollar Signs in Goodell's Eyes

But you need control of the ball. One of his hands slipped to the side, and the ball twisted out and hit the ground.

He had as much control as Allison had for GB, and that was ruled catch + fumble.

Yes, I know this is the Calvin Johnson rule, but it's a stupid, unnecessary rule. Player makes an athletic play, gets penalized for it.

Re: NFL 2017: With Dollar Signs in Goodell's Eyes

You can't have possession until you complete the catch.

One could argue that you can have possession, but must "survive the ground" as if you're in the trenches of Germany.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. Which completes the circle back to the starting point below.

And there lies the issue. Who knows what is and isn't a catch these days.

Seems every week there is a (sometimes several) controversial "catch/incompletion". That's an issue.

Aside: NFL releases video explaining the overturn. Guy speaking (SVP of Officiating) even says "completes the pass to James."

Funny. That Raiders "catch" was a mirror image of PIT's non-catch.
