Pete Rose was involved in a murder?

More to the point you were making about what pushes it over the edge. If someone's a murderer or decides to commit suicide despite being still fully able to live life, they shouldn't be honored. You did mention, however, that he's now being vilified for taking a knee...

Well the other two guys eventually got off on the basis of self defense so I'm not entirely sure that's accurate.

In a weird coincidence, after 13 years of living in MD today I met the very first person I've ever met who thinks Rayanthal is innocent.

People complain about targeting in college, and sometimes it reaches too far, but hits like that should result in an ejection.

I've heard of point shaving for the purposes of the gamblers, but this one, wow: https://www.infowars.com/shock-repo...hite-qb-refused-to-kneel-for-national-anthem/

Mind you, I don't see how this is illegal because it seems to solely be a decision of the one team and neither the other team nor referees were in on it, so it's not like the 50's quiz show scandals. Sorry Infowars, but I believe you're incorrect on that front. I'm also not surprised by the supposed blackmailing of a journalist to exercise his first amendment rights, but again not illegal because as much as they have freedom to write, you aren't forced to answer questions, and although stating the career would be over is going too far, stating that the person will no longer have their questions answered is perfectly allowable.

Scroll down a tad and you'll see the replay of the hit from last nights game. First thing you see is how low Trevathan is. Start the replay and you'll see GB's Adams in the grasp of one Chi Bear. Adams legs are still moving as the Bears player is pushing him back and starting to drag him down. Trevathan was going in low, didn't move up or down to target Adams and the collision happened.

Well from what I understand the jury didn't deliberate very long before they came down with a not guilty verdict on the basis of self defense (i.e. the two who were actually on trial, Ray was the star witness for the prosecution basically and got a misdemeanor for obstruction). I haven't read all the court documents or anything but the story was that one of the guys who got killed hit Ray's buddy in the head with a champagne bottle and then there was a fight that ended with the stabbing. Nothing I've ever read had Ray doing anything other than punching someone. Problem is there weren't that many witnesses.

I suppose the fact that the jury came quickly with a self defense verdict doesn't necessarily mean they got it right and it was an open and shut case, we've all seen juries get things wrong. But even if you think they got it wrong I haven't seen much to indicate that Ray ever did anything other than obstruct.

The hit was totally unnecessary, he was wrapped up and the play was over.

Yeah trust me that (and the various cop murders) came to mind when writing that. I think the jury deliberated a lot longer than 5 hours for those trials though.

According to Wikipedia, they only deliberated 4 hours for the murder trial!
