Funny(not ha-ha funny either) how there was a tape on the Ray Rice elevator incident and Josh Brown had written a dissertation on his lifetime of domestic abuse and yet the league comes up with nothing until looong after.

Maybe the NFL should have spent $5 million dollars on an investigation and they would have figured that out.

From what I've been reading, the police didn't give all the info to the NFL/etc because the case was still ongoing. Given that Brown is in therapy/counseling to solve these problems, that's a good start. I'm not trying to defend the guy, but I also don't mind giving second chances to someone who is trying to improve on his issues.

Yes, he should be punished by the NFL, and if he continues his treatment and has no future issues, I don't have a problem with him being in the NFL. While it's a DIFFERENT issue, he could have gone the way of Johnny Clipboard and basically said screw it, and not bother with therapy/counseling. If that was the case, I'd feel differently.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. I'm of the opinion that if your put your hands on a woman that's it, therapy or not. I can imagine there'll be all sorts of protests at home and on the road if NY brings him back. He just might be poison and never play again.

It'll also be interesting to see if all these incidents were alcohol-related or not. If they were, that is a bit of a different spin than just being a jerkwad abuser. If it's simply an anger thing (if he abused her when sober), then that needs to be looked at very closely.

I disagree, at least as far as last nights game was concerned.

The Bears and Packers did well to make sure that they changed as little as possible about their uniforms instead of making some gaudy Seahawks/Oregon/Maryland monstrosity.

The all-white look wasn't great, but it was at least consistent with the team's regular look.

I am just thankful for the Packers' awesome schedule this year. Due to the times of the games, only ONCE (Week 1) have I had to deal with Packer fans at the local watering hole. It's a blessing!

Not dealing with that fan base is a gift beyond compare.

The staff at my former watering hole flat-out said they hate dealing with Paint Thinner Nation. Demanding, impatient, rude, loud/obnoxious, etc. While they admitted PTN spend a bunch of money, it wasn't worth the hassle.

Had checked ESPN's site for some other scores, and one of their headlines was "Eagles/Vikings In A Sloppy Game" (or something like that). Um, no. It was a HELL of a defensive game, it was NOT due to bad offenses. The defenses were playing insanely. But, no points and turnovers apparently mean "sloppy" in today's NFL (5 turnovers in the first quarter).
