1991. Beat the Cowboys, then got dunked on by the eventual Super Bowl champion REDACTEDs.

I was just a kid, but Madden kept talking about how these were two young teams in the Cowboys and Lions that would be Super Bowl contenders soon. He was half right.

Week 16 will be an interesting experiment for the NFL. Due to ratings issues this year, issues that have impacted ad revenues its broadcast partners are facing now, they are going to mess with "the frequency of ad breaks during its Week 16 games, and with the number of ads that show during those breaks. The hope is that viewers will return."

Either games are going to go by much quicker this weekend, or they're actually going to have more advertisements, which would mean the seven minutes of action could actually extend into four-hour marathons.

Most of the games are on Saturday this week, with only the late AFC and the NBC games on Sunday.

thats what I mean...you're going to use data from Saturday to compare to the rest of the season? its already special circumstances with the majority of the slate on Saturday
There is a game tonight,
7 noon games on Saturday,
4 3pmish games on Saturday,
1 Saturday night game
1 3pmish game on Sunday
1 Sunday night game
1 Monday night game

I guarantee you that the NFL and networks have models for compensating for this type of situation. No, they're never perfect, but they'll have strong ideas for % gain/loss in audience due to Xmas week games. Ever since the late 90s, it's become the standard to play a regular season weekly schedule during the holiday, so they have metrics in hand.
