NFL 2016-17 II: Playoffs, Super Bowl, and Offseason

Re: NFL 2016-17 II: Playoffs, Super Bowl, and Offseason

I saw some article about a grievance thru the union with Hernandez but that was in like 2015 and football doesn't work like other sports, guaranteed money can typically get pushed to the year a player is released and the year after...it doesn't sit around for years.

The Dept. of Player Safety is clearly lower on the totem pole than the Dept. of Goal Scoring. If a guy is bleeding that much on the ice and isn't getting off, play should be stopped regardless of chances.

They're called touchdowns, not goals. :D

Baltimore should be happy the Colts left. Last time I checked its Ravens 2, Colts 1 in terms of Super Bowl victories since then. Plus, they didn't have to put up with Peyton Manning all those years! :D

Lots of speculation the Bucs are this years featured team on Hard Knocks. They've announced a "major announcement" tomorrow at 1pm, which seems to make it official.

Pats re-work Amendola, sign RB Gillislee from Bills to offer sheet.

Always a good idea to get good players stuck on bad teams in crappy cities. Cleveland/Cincy/Buffalo/STL (although not anymore). The players are so happy to get the hell out of there they go balls to the wall for the Pats just to have a chance to play for a winner.

a packers writer I follow has been beating the drum for GB to go after Gillislee but Ted hates giving up draft picks, but Gillislee is far better than your after 5th round pick...sigh

I have no idea how the Pats season will play out but on paper they've made the team better than the one that just won a SB, which is incredible. How is it that Buffalo is tight up against the cap and the Pats aren't even though one team has won 2 out of the last 3 championships and the other team has been horrible for decades?

bc one team has to pay a premium to get established talent and the other chooses to let go of talent before contracts get overbearing (I'm sure you realize this but I just had to say it). Its amazing what a difference culture and good management makes.

Doesn't matter.

If he can help, TT has no use for him. it's far more important to sell the farm after every decent season. We can't go around taking advantage of the window that we have.

Aarons Hernandez commits sucicide. 30 million bucks or whatever it was and gang banging is more important. I'll never understand that.

Well, clearly not everyone is such a crass materialist. ;)

It's the little things. Sunsets. Daffodils. Multiple homicides.

I would bet that it's not very different in mindset from the politicians who attain great heights in their professional careers only to have it all come crashing down because they diddled a secretary or intern and later got caught or exposed. It becomes an ego thing.

Bucs confirmed for Hard Knocks. I'm excited, can't wait to see what HBO comes out with from One Buc. Heck, maybe if I go to some training camp days I might get my 5 seconds of fame!
