NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

You can't pick the ball up at the one and run backwards and get a touchback I don't believe.

But it would be a safety, giving up only two points, and being able to kick the ball away deep.

One play never determines the outcome of a game. The Lions had the whole game to outscore Seattle.

It only took one play to deny them the chance to win the game, and they didn't have the whole game left at that moment.

Scoring from the one is no sure thing. Of all teams, Seattle knows that.

Argh.

With the win (well, the failed loss), Seattle now ties the record for consecutive MNF wins with 10. We do not appear on the remaining schedule (oddly, the Lions do), so we'll go for 11 next year at the earliest.

I must admit I watched the play and went to bed not knowing anything was wrong, and I thought I had my NFL rule arcana down. I am glad to see I am not alone.

Who is "we", kimosabe?

I think he's a 12...

Which makes me call into question just about everything he's ever said.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Look, the official knew that the Lions were going to do their Lion thing and blow it anyway, so he thought he'd save you all some heart attack minutes, make the agony short and sweet, and guarantee your higher draft position come this spring.

I'm a Packers fan.

I am so sick of this catch/no catch crap. You can't tell me that devonta freeman catch wasn't a catch. It is time to change the **** rule already. Use common bleeping sense.

Sebastian Janikowski still kicks for the Raiders??? Who does he think he is, George Blanda?

GO BRONCOS!!

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

This is not good

Giants tight end Daniel Fells has reportedly had multiple surgeries and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit on Friday for a stubborn Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection in his ankle. Doctors are worried the infection may have spread into Fells’ bone and could travel into his blood, which could have fatal implications, according to NFL Network.

I disagree, it was not a catch. Pretty straight forward. It's his own fault for attempting to score instead of worrying about actually completing the catch.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

The NFC North is essentially the Packers and three peewee football teams.

I wouldn't say that. Other than the loss to the 49ers, the Vikings have looked respectable. Yes, they'll drop both games to the Packers this year, but I think they'll keep the games close and interesting.

Now the real question in the NFC North is this: Can playing the Bears be enough to get the Lions off the schneid this season? Are we looking at another 0-16 season? The last time they went 0-5 was The Year.

I don't even know what this means. He had clear possession and dove for the endzone because his team needed a touchdown. It's the dumbest rule in football.
