NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Sounds like no deal was agreed upon based on the morning news cycle.

Based on today's hearing/rumors, the league still wants Brady to give in to the Wells Report yet they themselves denounce Wells' finding that Brady was generally aware. They now are more direct and say"he was involved" or whatever. Whether you think they did something/Brady was involved, the league does not have evidence to support their claim against Brady. And the judge also questioned the fairness of the investigation/appeal process today. Very interesting. All along I was waiting for a neutral party to see through all the league's BS here.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

At the end of the day it's in the CBA that Goodell is judge and appeals hearer. So I don't see how a court is going to alter his decision.

To clarify, the judge wasn't questioning whether it was right for Goodell to hear an appeal. It had to do with the fairness of the appeal process itself in this particular case. Plus this judge has clearly looked at the evidence/Wells report, something nobody expected him to do.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

How can any appeal be fair when it's the same person hearing it that handed out the punishment.

Players need to be willing to miss game checks during the next cba negotiations to get that fixed.

Can't argue with you here. All I'm saying is it's more than just who heard the appeal here. It's how the whole thing unfolded/how the league handled other aspects of it other than who heard the appeal.

Thats correct, Brady may get his injunction but he is sitting 4 games unless he gives in. He isn't giving in so....... I hope the court case drags out forever and he retires before the end, screw Goodell

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

No way is that a slam dunk. Plus another option the judge has is having a neutral arbitrator hear the case.

I've heard that one, too. That he vacates the punishment and sends it to a neutral arbitrator to re-try the appeal.

The ruling is a joke but the nflpa signed the contract that says goodell is god so I can't see that happening. WEEI reports the judge has told the nfl he may throw the whole thing out.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Just think if the case stayed in MN courts. Brady would already be cleared of all charges and the punishment dropped. The NFL would fined and threatened with anti-trust lawsuits.

Erik Kramer suicide attempt. Apparently he's not well in the head.

A California native who played college ball at North Carolina State, Kramer is best known for stints with the Lions, whom he led to a 12-4 record and a playoff win in 1991...

i'm just going to correct that there for them, "A California native who played college ball at North Carolina State, Kramer is best known for stints with the Lions, whom he rode Barry Sanders' coat tails to a 12-4 record and a playoff win in 1991..."

And for some odd reason, even though Kramer was the Lions hot QB at the time, the Lions chose to start Rodney Peete in the NFC title game against the Skins. The Lions lost the game 41-10, and the Skins went on to win the Super Bowl.
