NFL 2015.1 - if the ball weighs as much as a duck, it's a catch!

The Denver defense won't get a fortyburger dropped on it, but if Carolina can stop Denver's ground game and make noodle arm Manning work for it, he should provide enough rope to hang himself by.

17-10 Carolina.

I'm just hoping the first snap of the game isn't over Manning's head again...

Carolina is the favorite, but the #1 defense has a decent track record in Super Bowls. It isn't likely to be a blowout.
I was curious about the performance of the pre-game favorite, both against the spread and in terms of winning the game itself.

In the first 10 Super Bowls, the favorite covered the spread in 7 of the years, and won the game 8 times.

In Super Bowls 11-20, the favorite won the game 7 times, and covered the spread in each of those 7 games.

In Super Bowls 21-30, the favorite won 8 of 10 games, but only covered in 6 of the games.

In Super Bowls 31-40, the favorite again won 7 of 10 games, but covered only three times, with two pushes.

In Super Bowls 41-49, the favorite has won just 3 times out of 8 (last year was a pick 'em game), and the favorite has covered only twice, Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh and the Colts vs. the Bears.

The trend seems to favor the underdog (in this case, Denver). It should also be noted that Denver has only been an underdog five times this year, and not only covered but in fact won each of those five games. Furthermore, all five were playoff teams. http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/teams/team-page.cfm/team/broncos

But it would be really hard to bet against Carolina, as well as they've played all year.

Didn't take long for the Patriots to fire their Offensive Line coach.

Not that the pro bowl means a heck of a lot these days (or ever, depending on your stance) but Jameis Winston added to the exhibition in place of Tommy.

Tommy who? Brady's in the AFC and Winston's in the NFC.

Got to like how Belichick said after game no one person screwed up the O Line, guess that was a lie :)

Put Gisele out there at tackle, and she would have made a bigger obstruction for Denver's pass rush than Vollmer and Cannon were. Hey, she could just stand there watching them blow by as well as those two did, and just maybe she might have tripped and fallen in front of them a couple times.

Um, thanks?? :p

I'm going to be in Seattle in Super Bowl Sunday. I think I'll wear my "The Butler Did It" Patriots t-shirt when I go out to watch the game.

Thank you for the empathy. But Scarlet and Rover aren't so bad, and Walrus, while occasionally cranky, isn't an a-hole.:)

Forget it, in Keplers world everyone else is beneath him.

Saw an article that some seattle fan is trying to ban cam newton from ever playing in seattle. Maybe it's Kepler :)
