Rebuttal, cheaters?

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

Who gives a sh*? Really? I am no fan of the Pats, but this is a story?

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

On a side note, each team provides the refs with 12 footballs they use when they are on offense? Why not just have the league provide balls? Why is this a thing?

Who had access to the footballs from the time they were inspected to the time they were used in the game?

Can anyone pinpoint when the balls could have possibly been deflated?

As in replay, you need incontrovertible proof.

The whole point is they more than likely provided 12 balls that were properly inflated and then deflated them after league verified them. I think it's an issue because there are rules. Psi of balls must be within a certain range and pats were 2 psi low.

Ball boys, but again, why is this a thing?

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

It's a thing because Belichick has repeatedly shown no regard for the rules. He cheats whenever he thinks he can get away with it. They've caught him a few times now, how many times did he get away with it? **** him and the Pats, put the ****ty Colts in the game. Teach cheater Belichick a lesson.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

Yeah, slightly under inflated balls gave them a 38-point edge. It helped them run the ball all over indy up and down the field.

Nonstory

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

I remember hearing the max punishment is a $25,000 fine for under inflated footballs.

This. I hate the Pats b/c of cheating and all, but that is NOT the reason the Colts crapped the bed.

My comment wasn't in regard to whether anything untoward happened in this case and what any punishment should be. I was wondering why, in the general sense, the teams get to provide their own semi-customized balls, rather than the NFL just saying "here, you'll use these ones"; it seems to lend itself to cheating.

Some QBs like the balls shiny others like them with more grip (rubbed down and scuffed and such). They covered that during the over-analysis of the games.

Are we really supposed to believe this is the first time it's happened though? What if it happened against Baltimore?

Personally I think they should have to forfeit. Repeat offenders of cheating, this time on something that was actually in-game. At the very least Belicheat should be suspended.

JFC. You think the NFL will make a team forfeit the BIGGEST EVENT OF AMERICAN SPORTS?

You're better than that. Just sayin'.

If they try a forfeit, Kraft and the Patriots will sue the nipples right off of the NFL's tits. There might even be an injuction before the lawsuit even got filed. Even Al Davis would try to get involved from the grave.

Why weren't these balls locked away after inspection, and then tested again right before the game? And why isn't the NFL providing the balls in the first place? This whole thing is ****ing asinine.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

If ANYONE thinks that anything more than a minor fine will be levied....leave earth. Now. Just....go. Go.

But thats not the point. It doesn't matter what the results of that single game were, what matters is the repeated complete disregard for the rules of the game.

Edit: and no, they won't be punished properly, but they should be

A bigger fine than you think. And maybe a draft pick. But nothing more.

The current media's nuts would have fallen off had they seen what these guys did in the 70's.
