Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

I wanted the Bears to lose that game, but I'm pretty good with the Niners choking that one away in the opener of their new stadium.

Good stuff.

A little bummed though as Chicago sports radio tomorrow AM would have been epic.

Now they'll be talking Super Bowl.

Bears are where most ppl expected them to be after 2 games. They just did it the hard way. Defense needs to keep getting better.

I was more referring to both radio and fans down there. I enjoy the peaks and valleys and the gnashing of teeth.

They're either Super Bowl favorites or it's time to rebuild from scratch - sometimes within the same week. :D

Honestly, that was a mistake on the refs part, even moreso than it was on Mornhinweg and Richardson.

But it's still asking a lot to make sure that the sideline official can be sure who is telling him to call a timeout. I don't see why he can't just learn the sound of Ryan's voice and base his decision on that, but beyond intuitively knowing who's calling the timeout, his only course of action is to try to blow the play dead (which he did try to do, albeit unsuccessfully), and then they can sort out whether the timeout is legit.

Aside from the official being able to discern that the two people calling for a timeout weren't acting on Ryan's behalf, I'm not sure what they should've done differently other than maybe not charge the timeout (despite having no choice but to re-do the play anyway).

The boys on SCORE are pretty critical either way, aren't they?

They'll talk people down who are a little too optimistic, but they even referenced the hyperbole of the highs (like after this win) today during the 1:00 transition and Bernstein stated "That's our job!" And they all laughed. They get it.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the SCORE (my go to sports station) and that's a testament to how entertaining I find the hosts as the only Chicago team I like are the Hawks and while ambivalent towards the Bulls and Sox, I hate the Bears and despise the Cubs (and their fans).

The epic meltdown that I was looking forward to was from the fans and then Boers & Bernstein telling them how stupid they are.
