There's my winning team. My first title in the 7 years I've been in the league. Can't wait until Draft Day! 250 days!

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

My main league is seriously considering having our draft lottery this next weekend. Imagine months and months of knowing where you are picking....We've done it really early once before in 21 years, and that was during a Super Bowl. It's nerve-wracking.

Haha that sounds hilariously awful. Funny as hell, but just....mean. :p

I'm SO glad I don't have to deal with fretting over draft position anymore. Auction drafts FTW!

F* auctions. I've made it clear that if we ever move to auction, I retire. Period.

And while nerve-wracking, the early lotto is awesome. The posturing, the scouting, the wait.....it makes it year-round instead of you forgetting about it for a few months. ;)

For the SB one, whenever a turnover happened, or a score happened, that's when the next number was drawn. This time around, I dunno how we'll time the drawing of the next number.

The certainty: 12 team names in 12 blank envelopes. Each team that is present mixes up the envelopes. They are then laid out, and each team takes one turn to number one envelope. And when it's down to 2 envelopes, the one that is marked #1 is opened. Chaos ensues.

Any reasoning why? I'm genuinely curious. Everyone I've converted to an auction format absolutely loves it and hasn't looked back. Having a shot at every player, and having several different ways to build a team, along with playing off other player's reactions to bidding makes it by far the best fantasy draft style I've ever done.

I hated the idea of auctions as well. Until last year when we switched over. I loved it.

I'm all about the draft. I hate the idea of someone running up a bid to get someone else to overpay. I hate the idea of just throwing out names to bid on. The whole structure of it just irritates me. I like the serpentine-style drafting technique to build your team, guessing how long you can wait to get that sleeper you've got your eye on, trying to guess what the team next to you is going to do.

Because someone will play the role of Dave Hester. (Storage Wars reference.)

That's what I had a problem with as well. Until I tried it. It's awesome. I had a lot of fun trying to get others to overpay. Throwing out names that I had no intention of bidding on but knew someone else would. The whole structure of it is awesome. I liked the auction-style drafting technique to build your team, guessing how long you can keep bidding up the price of a player to make your opponent overpay, trying to wait until the end when no one has any money to grab the sleeper.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

Doesn't matter. Right now, Brees is the record holder. ;)

And NO has a #2 to play for next week.

Yup, you're right. They need a win and SF loss to clinch #2. Thought they just needed the SF loss.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

Jared Allen has 22 sacks and the Vikings' single season record. One more and he has the NFL record. The Bears need to look into drafting an o-line because Allen's 3.5 sacks today are not the only Vikings sacks.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

For run blocking, the Bears actually do it pretty well. As far as pass blocking, did I mention they are pretty decent run blockers?
