How can it be a crappy call when it was not challenged or even seen by the ref? He was blocked from view. And if it was so obvious it was a bad call on the field, the play should have been challenged by your coach.

I agree that it should have been challenged, but you do realize that none of what you said makes it a good call right?

Fail Fail Fail FAVRE!

But that's ok. He lost because of [arm/ankle/text message debacle/insert excuse here].

Ok, being truthful, that may have been the reason. The Packers weren't stopping anything.

The hilarious thing is that SOMEONE has to win the NFC North. Who will it be? Who will fight for the right to exit in the first round of the playoffs?

It was the wrong call. Nothing you say makes it correct. Believe what you like. Whether or not the incompetent coach challenges it or not doesn't make the call right.

See, I don't think so. Whoever wins it, and I think the Packers definitely have to be the slight favorites, will get the 3 seed for the playoffs due to the crappiness of the West. Then, it's a 6 seed at home in January. I'd feel decent about my chances if I was in Chicago or Green Bay and had a home game in the cold.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

I think it's only ridiculous because it kind of went against NFL precedent, it seemed pretty clear to me that the ball hit the ground and turned over a bit.

Just as it seems pretty clear to me that you were drunk while viewing that play. That was a touchdown.

It was definitely the wrong call, however, you can't fault the back judge there, he was totally screened by the players.

Contrast that to the Harvin TD, where the official had the best view in the stadium, and still messed it up.

The cold has been proven to do nothing anymore when it comes to the North and HF advantage.

No argument but the lame argument that not challenging makes it correct is laughable.

Right now that 6 spot is Tampa or New Orleans, a Florida team and a dome team. You don't think that would affect them at all?

KFAN quotes from Childress: "Worst officiated game I've seen."
"They hadn't made a call all night, and then they suddenly call a facemask on Loadholt at the end."

Because that wasn't a facemask Brad?

I'm not sure it was. He got him under the chin without touching the helmet, is that still considered facemasking? But the officials did suck. The refs sure did love UND and the Vikings this weekend!

No it was, it was blatant, the problem is they had ignored stuff like that for both teams all game...kinda a bad spot (if you are the coach) to finally own up and call one ya know. It is like when the WCHA official ignores holding all game then callls one with 2 minutes left in a tie game...sure it probably was one but **** man why grow a sack now?

why was it not a penalty when Mathews took his helmet off, during play, on the field? As far back as I remember taking your helmet off is a 15 yarder. Not that it matters I am just asking.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

No, it was clear that he maintained possession the entire way. That's a TD.

It's pretty clear that he didn't complete the process of a catch in the end zone before the ball touched the ground.

It'd be pretty awful to lose a game that way. Oh. Right.

This is an HOF quote, courtesy of my buddy: "Carson Palmer is the Don Majkowski of today. He's the best thing that Cincy has seen, but he's still crap." :D :D :D

I was wondering the same thing, that was tremendously odd.
