You're forgetting last year, when we defeated Ryerson 3-1, they lost some key players to injury, and NMU defeated them 11-2. The following week, we defeated NMU 5-3 at home.
Nipissing, already down quite a few players going into their game with us, lost another line to injuries in Houghton. NMU was their third opponent in three days, and they don't usually play on the big ice. Not surprisingly, NMU wins big.
UNH, Denver, Ferris, Northeastern, LSSU, and at least one or two other schools failed to defeat their CIS opponents this weekend. Western Ontario even made a game of it versus Michigan. These early exhibitions mean squat and are mainly an excuse to sell more tickets, tune things up, and make the freshmen earn their ice time next weekend.
It is not time to get nervous.
