Ix-nay on the Innegan-Fays. Ever since they changed their formula (and stopped being an Irish potato ale), it sucks.

Re: "Next Year" Begins Now: Michigan Tech 2010-11 Season Thread Part I

NMU scored nine seconds into the game on our friend Stone this afternoon. And then proceeded to score 10 more goals.

I think that is a huge difference, and maybe Ni****ing was just tired after playing us? But we seemed to jump out to the 3-0 lead and let them hang around for the rest of the game. There wasn't much of a killer instinct last night, and it seemed like our neighbors in Marquette had that quality today.

It was a good win last night, but I felt that the timing was off on many things. Passes were just out of reach, for example. I think the system changes are going to work, and once the team gels, you will see more opportunities. There were many potential opportunities last night that were not realized into actual opportunities. One more week to gel, and then the games start for real.

It makes me nervous that a team we beat 5-3 last night and let hang around a little bit was completely blown out of the water by our rivals, and the team we go on the road to face next. I realize that these things have absolutely no bearing on the reality of the regular season, but is it natural to be a bit nervous about it?

Things get dicey when you don't put away the chances you have, and let a team stay in the game. Look at the Packers today, they dicked around the entire second half and almost lost to the lowly Lions.

I guess I would like to see Tech develop the killer instinct. If you score a goal or two to get up on the other team, I would love to see the intensity to hit the gas pedal and drive the other team into the ground before they have the chance to come back.

You're forgetting last year, when we defeated Ryerson 3-1, they lost some key players to injury, and NMU defeated them 11-2. The following week, we defeated NMU 5-3 at home.

Nipissing, already down quite a few players going into their game with us, lost another line to injuries in Houghton. NMU was their third opponent in three days, and they don't usually play on the big ice. Not surprisingly, NMU wins big.

UNH, Denver, Ferris, Northeastern, LSSU, and at least one or two other schools failed to defeat their CIS opponents this weekend. Western Ontario even made a game of it versus Michigan. These early exhibitions mean squat and are mainly an excuse to sell more tickets, tune things up, and make the freshmen earn their ice time next weekend.

It is not time to get nervous.

Says the man who convinced me to post Ronald despite winning.

You gotta learn how to kill first, before you can develope an instinct to do it.

Did I miss the beginning of hockey season?

That sucks.

Anyone know of a good place to get the name plate pit back on the jersey I won? It needs to be the exact same lettering as was on there before, or I won't go through with it. No way am I butchering it with a not authentic name plate. Next question...have we had these black jersies long enough that conner would have worn the same style? It's a #25 jersey and I'm not sure if I want to put nielson on the back, especially if conner wore this same vintage jersey.

I will murder you with your own gun if you put Conner on it. If it's Nielson's jersey, put Neilson on it.
