New WCHA logo

Re: New WCHA logo

As someone who knows a lot about this kind of thing, it's certainly a disappointing effort, one that reeks of a low-budget approach and a bad client.

Adrenalin is much better firm this shows- my guess is that they were hamstrung by a bad client (the WCHA) with poor taste.

The campaign slogan should almost never be "locked up" with the logo. Slogans come and go - logos need to do their job without being cluttered with more stupidity.

And the slogan is not worthy of America's top college hockey league. Telling people that your league just got tougher implies that it wasn't tough in the first place. And why is this at all relevant in the much larger Big 10 discussion?

The larger W adds nothing, just further alienates other leagues by emphasizing westernness.

They should have stayed with what they had (simple) or rebranded entirely. The extra tweaks look forced and are unneeded.

Couidn't agree more.
Changing the color --OK. Everything else, why bother. When you have an indentifiable brand, leave it alone.

".....new colors were introduced to encapsulate the talent, toughness and power of the league's teams, and the player graphic was refined for more clarity in all applications."

black and black?

This is the same league who should have a game of the week on television but chooses not to. They have zero confidence in themselves to sell their product. I have heard this first hand by past and current players in the WCHA. Pathetic.

Wow...must have cost them hundreds...

Re: New WCHA logo

It's like having to explain an inside joke.

Bonus irony points given the BTHC cloud that will be hanging over everyone's head after Friday.

Well, on the flip side, if Wisco and Minnesota leave should they change it to "Got easier"? Or maybe "Good riddance, write when you get a Title"? :D

Re: New WCHA logo

You DI guys are weird.

Conferences that can't count the number of teams who belong to the conference

(Big 1?, Big XII?)

Conferences that can't count the number of teams in their season ending tournament
A final 5 that involves 6 teams?

No wonder students today are mathematically challenged.

at least the Final Five actually involves 5 GAMES, unlike the big twens

No one cares about the opinion of a club hockey fan such as yourself. Go teach your players how to skate backwards.

At least in DIII we don't worry that the whole landscape is going to collapse just because one new team is being added.

Well obviously. People need to care for there to be a landscape.

DI hockey is 112-room mansion with the beautiful yard complete with fountains and a driveway paved with gold. Putting a big tree in the middle of the yard will obviously change the landscape.

DIII hockey is the trailer with the busted screen door that is hanging off it's hinges in the middle of the Arizona desert. Putting a big tree in the middle of the "yard" is pointless because no one gives a flying crap.

It's called "creative accounting". Sheesh. Have you been living under a rock? ;)

Re: New WCHA logo

Well, the silver is a better choice than the green, and the oversized W rocks. Considering we're talking about the WCHA, here, I think it's a masterful change. :D

They don't even know that a human face is attached to/part of the human head, how are they going to have a non-1991 website and non-1960's logo? :D
