They can do better than dredging up the CCHA.

But then again they could also do worse.

Not my favourite choice, but I'd live with it.

Cal, USC, UW. Invite UBC and freak the NC$$ out.

I spoke with Collegiate Consulting when trying to get ahold of Morris Kurtz earlier. Simon Fraser was serious about playing NCAA D1 hockey but NCAA basically told WCHA/college hockey they didn't have time to figure out rules for a canadian school because of all the pay to play stuff going on now.

Re: New WCHA is dead

what would you call it?
I just don't think going back to the CCHA brand is what the Severed Seven intended when they announced their plan to leave the WCHA. I took it as they saw an opportunity to rebrand and start new. But then again I wasn't sure the 7 would stay together but rather disburse among existing leagues when the news first broke.

This is useless unless the new conference is willing to pick up the Championship Friday bar tab :o :p

99% chance it's CCHA, but the ultimate haymaker to the Alaska schools would be Great West Hockey.

Re: New WCHA is dead

Maybe they're resurrecting the IHL but calling it the Intercollegiate Hockey League.

Doesn't tie them down geographically so it will be easy to add ASU.
