Re: New/Rented Movies: Have Mercy on Michael Bay's Soul, He Knows Not What He Does
Right, but he's the originator. Pyscho is like a thousand other films but Psycho was the first.
Vertigo still holds up. I don't think anyone has recreated that one effectively.
North By Northwest is Bond before Bond. Since Bond took it to the next level North By Northwest looks old and dated.
I could go on and on.
No, Rear Window, Vertigo, Psycho, or North By Northwest? That's his best run. Dial "M" for Murder is one of my faves. And Frenzy (which should have been his last film) is really good.
Hitchcock movies are pretty good, but tend to be predictable. He was pretty much the originator of the "get 'em" scene that has long since become ubiquitous in every suspense/mystery/horror from the A list to LMN.![]()

My favorite Hitch movies:
Saboteur
Rebecca
The Lady Vanishes
Suspicion
Lifeboat
Foreign Correspondent
Rope
Notorious
Strangers on a Train
Shadow of a Doubt
