Saw Indie Game: the Movie last night. Loved it, solid A.

In Time

This could have been the next Matrix or on that level. Love the concept. However, it turns out that it's a really really good B-movie. Dialogue? Horrible. Cliches? Up the ying-yang. It's truly a mishmash of Bonnie & Clyde/Romeo And Juliet/Trading Places (that last one meaning rich/poor class attitude). Entertaining? Yeah, sure, I'll say so. It could have been SOOOOO much better though.

Saw Rock of Ages last night and I went in expecting it to be cheesy and it was.
I did enjoy it though and I thought the music was pretty well done.
I have not seen the musical on stage so I'm not sure how true it stays to it but I think it was written to be cheesy.
Cruise was excellent and Julliane Hough wasn't bad.
The male lead, (Diego something..) was decent I thought and the rest are actors who can sort of sing with the exception of Mary J Blidge (of course)
I would see it again and I think if you go into it not expecting a hardcore rockmusical and instead expect a cheesy view of late 80's LA with some hair band music, it is enjoyable.

So, last week a movie came up on our NetFlix queue that my wife had seen, but I had never. Dances with Wolves. It took us about 5-6 days to watch it, being almost 4 hrs. long.

Wow, what a great movie. Great directing, great acting, everything about it was wonderful.

I'm really sorry it took me so long to see it.

Best part is now you don't have to see Avatar, since it's the same farking movie.

Beware the haters, but I fully agree.

Seeing as it was an excellent movie we can all bet Kepler hated it. In 4 hours he could watch 5 episodes of the Bachelorette which is way more important to him ;)

It's not the Steampunkness that makes the Downey SH terrible, it's scripts and plotlines written for thirteen year-old C students with ADHD. The production values, OTOH, are gorgeous. I don't blame RDJ, either. I think he's actually a talented and entertaining actor who occasionally stars in garbage to finance the rest of his career (c.f. Depp, J. and Martin, S.)

Holmes and Dracula are the most often reimagined characters in English language movie history. The odds are there will be turkeys in there, particularly from studios used to making stuff like That's My Boy.
Nothing will ever top "Without a Clue"

I'm a hater, but I have no problem with people enjoying it.

I went to see Abraham Lincoln-Vampire Hunter tonight. It was.....different. Kinda entertaining, kinda stupid. I did not read the book. I really don't want to.

Kinda entertaining kinda stupid actually seems like a pretty solid success for that premise.

Book was actually entertaining, better than the latest stephen king/john grisham rehash or mommie porn like twilight and 50 shades of grey. Same author did Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, which my wife liked.

I'm guessing the movie was more slasher flick than the book, though. I heard of at least one major difference: the book doesn't have a heavy to fight at the end. It simply ends at Lincoln's assassination (plus an epilogue). I know the author said the movie was going to have an actual villain.)

I believe that Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is going to film as well.

Wait, which movie am I supposed to hate? DwW? It was OK, but give me Jimmy Stewart in "Broken Arrow."

Also, never judge a man on his trash TV; that is sacred territory.

Good concept, poor execution.

I think my current favorite reimagining of Holmes and Watson is the Name of the Rose.
