Maybe it's just me, but I hope Avatar fails miserably. Like under 50 million in tickets for its total run.

I was less than pleased when watching Bones the other night. I swear that half the episode was just a giant ad for Avatar.

It's not just you. I'd hoped these POS were done when George Lucas was shipped to Taiwan in an airtight crate.

It will change movies forever by removing actors from therm. Imagine the suck that would be if James Cameron and Michael Bay made a movie together. An entire movie with no actors, no dialoge, no plot...nothing but CG and EXPLOSIONS!!!!!11!1!11!!11

You aren't familiar with how Kepler doesn't like The Dark Knight and The Departed, and often uses them as his punchline in situations like this?

Of course. It's one of the requirements for voting, I hear.

The Departed didn't have no acting/direction, it had bad acting/direction, so it's not covered by the current discussion. ;)

(2012 was a much better example of phenomenal fx and non-existent everything else than Dark Knight, but you can't spoil adolescent fanboys' naptime by dissing 2012.)

We watched Taken last night. It was a bit implausible at times, and seemed to have some gaps, but it was not bad for an action movie.

Spent 15 of the last 36 hours watching Season 3 of Mad Men. All in all a very weak season, until the final episode, which was outstanding and really makes me look forward to Season 4.

Started on the remade Prisoner. Very different from the original (Namibia?) despite surface similarities but still interesting. Hopefully it won't just be another tedious "incoherence equals profundity" Lost clone.

Daniel Radcliffe is going to get naked in the next Harry Potter film.

What?!

Director David Yates tells The Telegraphthat in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows there will be a a "very sexy" love scene in which Radcliffe might appear nude alongside co-star Emma Watson.

"Dan has appeared nude in the past," Yates told The Telegraph. "There are a couple of scenes in the new film in which he will undress, but we're still thinking about how we present it."

OK, I haven't read a single page of a single HP book, but somehow I'm willing to bet that's not in any of them...

I would have to wonder if that's for when Harry and Ron try to destroy the locket - the soul of Voldemort tries to convince Ron that Harry and Hermione have been hooking up since Ron left. I don't think the book is that explicit about it, but maybe they want to make it more unnerving for Ron in the movie.

Other than that, I can't imagine why Harry and Hermione would be naked together in any sort of love scene, unless they've drastically changed the story (which, I suppose, is entirely possible).
