Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

****ed right! I havent laughed that hard in quite some time!

"Ladies and gentlemen we have been apart of a hate crime here..."

I appreciated it as the movie to revolutionize the use of "motherf-cker" again.

"James Van Der Beek... My nigga!"

District 9 - Loved it, the special effects were amazing, but it did make me think of Half life a lot. The aliens reminded me of the vortigaunts, MNU - Black Mesa, the lead character - Gordon Freeman, the exo suit - Dog. The exosuit even had a gravity gun.

PIG INCOMING!

We watched The Pianist this weekend. I had seen parts of it before, and found it to be a depressing, but ultimately inspiring, meditation on the human spirit.

Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

District 9 was pretty good - it is definitely over-hyped by hyper-nerds, however.
Who cares how much it's hyped as long as you enjoy the movie? You go in with your own tastes and like it the amount you like it.

I really liked it a lot; it's easily one of my three favorite movies of the summer season. A creative and unique concept pulled off very well for such an unexpectedly low production budget. And, for being his first credited acting role, Sharlto Copley proved to be a compelling protagonist.

An old-time classic came up on our Netflix queue - Touch of Evil with Chuck Heston. Anybody seen it? Orson Welles starred and directed - very interesting story of how the studio took apart what Welles did.

Yep, seen it. This is one of the many film noir's I went through in a 6 month period. There are still many more for me to see. The atmosphere of that film is very dark and it uses the viewers imagination (kind of like psycho did) to portray one of the crimes that are commited (don't want to give anything away). Very well acted as well with old time star Marlene Dietrich in a supporting role.

And Zsa Zsa Gabor, but I didn't recognize her.

Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

That film is on the must see list with Tarantino's new flick. Diablo Cody (Juno) wrote the screenplay for it.

You are kidding right? That movie looks so brutally horrible that words truly escape me! Christ the preview isnt even worth the minute I spent watching it before The Goods. I don't care who wrote it, it looks horrible and completely uninteresting. (unless you are going to pay 8 bucks to stare at Megan Fox...yawn)
