Re: New/Rented Movies: Bring Back Laserdiscs!
Could be, I've never heard of it.
Wasn't that called "Kick-Arse?"

I enjoyed it but overall it was very meh. The actual scary parts were almost all in the first half of the movie and boiled primarily down to the ghosts jumping out and going "boo!" Some of which are very effective and creepy. That one outside the window, holy ****. The 3rd act and ending just killed any sense of dread or malice that was being built up..Insidious
I saw a screening in early March, I know one of the producers. I really like a good horror movie but often walk away disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed Insisious. The lack of gore and elimination of "fake scares" (e.g. when the foreboding music plays it's for a reason) adds to the boding sense of doom. I think that the masses are going to like this movie, it's well done. The haunting concept here is different and it's refreshing. I was scared during the movie and some of the scenes still give me the shivers. It's easier in many ways (for me at least) to dismiss over the top gore versus the buildup of increasingly scary concepts in this film.
Good movie. MUCH better than I expected.
Meant to post this on Friday, but, if any of you had any thoughts at all of going to see Your Highness... please don't do it.

Hanna was beautiful. Completely mis-marketed, though. It's really a Euro-intellectual art movie. Everybody's going to go in thinking it's Salt 2 and come out thinking, WTF?
I have been watching "The Civil War" by Ken Burns one PBS...wow it is fantastic!![]()
I just watched this last week as well. Basically, I called it "Anne Hathaway's b***s and Jake Gyllenhall's a*s". All told, it wasn't a bad movie.I watched Love and Other Drugs last night. Movie was OK, Anne Hathaway really hates clothes.
