Oswego looked crappy against Buffalo State for most of the game but they thoroughly out chanced Fredonia the entire game as well as Potsdam for a lot of it. Elmira was fairly close both games but they are certainly not a cupcake. They have generated a lot of chances but have had a little trouble scoring goals thanks to some rushed shots and some pretty solid goaltending.

As for the defense they did pretty much the same thing last year but the forwards were scoring six or seven times a game so it went largely unnoticed.

Sure they aren't running people over yet, but I think if they keep winning, then the big scores might start happening. Right now they are finding ways to win games and when the game is up for grabs they are the ones that are getting that all important next goal. They haven't allowed anyone to take momentum and run with it which to me is a sign of a good team.

Plattsburgh looks solid but they just aren't getting the big plays at the right time yet, if they start getting that then look out.

Amherst. Who lost to St Norbert in finals 3-1. ( St Norbert winning Nationals that year )

bottom line poll should start Jan 1, so all teams can have 10 or so games........and I know its just something to talk/agree/disagree about........

As long as everyone comes into it with the right mindset polls are great forum fodder.

I am completely shocked that they jumped Elmira so high.

Other than that, nothing too surprising. A little bit that Amherst dropped out of the poll without even playing but those are the breaks a I guess when Marian and Stevens Point jump in.

The voters took into consideration that all 5 of Elmiras games this season have come against teams that all appear in one fashion or another in this ranking.

Probably true. I guess I'm still used to the days where Elmira didn't get the benefit of the doubt when it came to the polls and it took them twice as long as to ascend the polls and one loss they would drop faster than doughnut in a police station.

I am as well, but there was something else that jumped out at me. With the exception of 4 teams who haven't played a game yet, Oswego is the only undefeated ranked team. Has there ever been a season where so many top teams have gotten their first loss before Thanksgiving?

I noticed this as well. Idk about Thanksgiving but I can't imagine the number of the teams that haven't lost yet and have actually played has been this low two weeks BEFORE Thanksgiving in quite some time.
