How in the world do you think they are overrated? If anything they are underrated IMHO. They should be third in the poll at worst and when the NCAA rankings come out, as long as nothing drastic changes, they'll more than likely be the #2 team in the East behind Oswego.

Guess you did not make the trip, eh?

As I said before, who gets ranked in the East is going to be interesting because the selection criteria went down by 1 when OWP and OOP got combined into SoS. If the ECAC-W suicides against each other and has 2 or 3 teams ranked, the ECAC-W TUC teams' Record vs. Ranked teams may not be that good.

I just hope Babson goes on a hot streak and gets ranked.

Hey everyone's got an opinion. Yours is that Manhattanville is the best team because you deem it that way. Theirs is they're overrated. It is what it is

Yes you saw them beat Norwich, a team that couldn't put two passes together during that period.

This is a Manhatanville team who

Barely got by Fredonia 5-3
Barely got by Western New England 7-6
Barely got by Connecticut College 3-2
Barely got by Cortland 3-2
Barely got by Curry 2-1
Blown out by Neumann 1-5

a top 5 team in the Nation should not have issues with any of those teams, let alone ALL of those teams....with Neumann being the exception. I can see having a close game here or there, call it an off night, but not this many. No ECAC West team will make it to the Final Four....

Probably a top 15 team, but NOT a top 10 let a lone a top 5....Manhatanville will finish 3rd in the ECAC West.

Outside of Neumann, they won, didn't they? And to the NCAA that's all that matters. The SoS will take care of itself, but you have to beat your opponents first.

Why are you so jealous of meaningless rankings?? Platty got"buried" by Geneseo and Buff State ffs. Root for your own team !

Manhattanville is ranked #3 in my computer rankings for this week for whatever that is worth.

Look at you crying over your little Utica team....I could care less where Plattsburgh is...I know what they are capeable of.....Ask me in 3 weeks about little Geneseo and Buff State...

How does SNC lose two first place votes since last week and fall to second after beating UWEC twice over the weekend. UWEC came in at number two in last weeks western power rankings and has many quality wins this year. What was the power ranking of the team(s) Oswego played over the weekend that propelled them into sole possession of first place? ;)

Elmira visits Playland on the 28th and 29th - those games should clarify things a bit...

Could be as simple as different voters. There is a pool larger than the 20 voters that get ballots. Some people are "extra" ballots in case all aren't submitted.

I agree. I wish I could make the drive from Atlantic City for Fridays game, but we have a race. If Elmira can get solid defense and goaltending, they should come away with at least 3 points. Elmira is one team that is playing like a top 10, if not top 5, team in the Nation...

Let me just say, I couldn't care less where Utica, Plattsburgh or anyone else is ranked in a meaningless poll...

However, it's funny you mention the last time Utica played back to back non-conference road games. You're right... it was back in 2007. Interestingly enough... it appears as though Plattsburgh has ventured out to play back to back non-conference road games exactly once (1/5/10-1/9/10) since 2007 - and no, neutral games at the Primelink don't count as road games.

Plattsburgh has 9 NC games (2 Cardinal Classic, 2 Primelink) ...so thats 5 left....Norwich, Middlebury, Skidmore and Williams all play interlock (cant play on same weekend) and Elmira...I think Plattsburghs NC schedule speaks for its self. Last year alone Plattsburgh had 17 of their 29 games on the road....it takes Utica almost 2 full seasons to see 17 away games...Of course they wouldnt count...:rolleyes:...god forbid you play real competition on the road back to back nights....

Utica has 13 NC games...Utica has already had 4 weekends of double NC games...1 away series.....

Manhattanville is last in their conference and #5 in the nation ............. and Elmira in first in the same conference and unranked. Go figure!

Maybe we need to have a disclaimer at the top of every poll thread. An FAQ that gets copied and pasted each and every week.

...but then we'd end up with 3 posts in this thread....

There's a thread of those around, but since the change to the new format the search will only go as far as the turnover.
