New Poll Predictions for 1/11

Re: New Poll Predictions for 1/11

Unfortunately that won't be happening yet, but they will be seeing each other again at the latest in two years at the Pathfinder Bank Tournament.

Awesome! Props to Gosek for inviting them! Imagine if they played Elmira and Oswego in one weekend at the Pathfinder! (I know, it still wouldn't count, but it'd be an interesting weekend of Hockey to watch)

Re: New Poll Predictions for 1/11

The Championships are in Lake Placid, but are they the 19-20th or the 20th-21st?

Might have to change the reservations if the latter....

Not sure if Elmira will be back in two years or not. They've been twice now and I heard rumblings and grumblings about Elmira starting up their own tournament again here in the next few years. But that was when Ceglarski was still coach. Not sure if anything changed when Saul took over.

I believe the tournament was "supposed" to start this year but obviously with the coaching change that may have got put on the back burner or they just ended up not doing it.

I'd love it if Elmira brought their tournament back. Those were some fun times with the East/West faceoff bringing in St. Thomas, Superior, Stevens Point, and SNC.

Elmira hasn't made a trip to a tournament other than the Times Argus/Pathfinder/or Cardinal Classic in quite some time I believe.

They went to Babson about five or six years ago now?

Re: New Poll Predictions for 1/11

I was the first Adrian poster around here. I haven't made an excuse for a loss yet. I'm sure as hell not about to start now. And I'm telling you now, they're not going to stop trying to improve their non-con schedule.

That's right Hammer....the bigger the better...and as often as possible.
With the limitations of a 5 game N/C schedule Adrian has drawn some great teams. Imagine what it would be like if the MCHA dumped that restrictive 20 game schedule. :(

Saul brought his Potsdam team to Adrian.........if the lines of communication are open .....we know it's a less that 500mi. road trip. That would pack 'em in at Arrington !

Re: New Poll Predictions for 1/11

Did my own homework and I was pretty close.

Last time Elmira was in a tournament other than the Times Argus (2), Pathfinder (2), Cardinal Classic (1) was after Thanksgiving in 2003.

EC downed Stonehill (4-1) and Babson(3-1) to win the Babson Tourney in one of their worst seasons in program history in 2003-2004 going 11-12-2.

Re: New Poll Predictions for 1/11

So Adrian will be at the Pathfinder not next year, but the year after?

What are the full fields for the next two?

Re: New Poll Predictions for 1/11

Just realized that the poll is up (finally). For those who have been arguing that Fredonia deserves more respect: they got 4 points, which is 3 more than Potsdam, who won the Times Argus and Tied both Wick and Plattsburgh.

Ouch. I am surprised. I didn't think that Fredonia or Potsdam would be ranked, but they do deserve more votes. I thought winning the Times Argus would mean something.

I also believe Potsdam deserves more votes, maybe some that Wentworth is getting.

Wentworth has a fine won/loss record but if you dig into it there is not much substance. They have only played two teams with winning records; they tied Fitchburg State who have not yet defeated a team with a winning record and they beat Nichols who at 6-5 have not defeated a team with a winning record either. The only game they lost was 7-3 to Hamilton who is 9th in the 10 team NESCAC.

Their next three games are Hobart (2) and Curry. The results of those should either substantiate the votes they are getting or justify my scepticism.

Just an observation regarding the wasted vote here (NEC)???

I believe that schedule was set up before Saul took over Potsdam.

I stand corrected. Congratulations to Wentworth for carrying the banner of the ECACNE into the ECACW and winning tonight.
