New England Girls Prep School 2010-2011

IceIsNice

Huh? Whoopie Pies? WHERE???
That time of year again!

Ice you will love to hear that Tabor is loading up this year. In addition to their strong senior class they have added a very skilled D currently playing for Spitfires. I have heard that they have also brought in a new senior goalie........should be a strong squad

Nobles 3-1 over Lawrence in exhibition last night in Dedham. Nobles frosh brought impressivw speed.

Re: New England Girls Prep School 2010-2011

Tabor 6 -5 over Milton

With the goalie pulled, Milton had a "high stick" goal waived off.

Silva and Frade with 2 scores a piece, while Godin was impressive on D (as advertised by Goaliedad35...... good call!)

Re: New England Girls Prep School 2010-2011

St. Paul's lost to Brewster 3-0. Third goal was an empty netter.

Re: New England Girls Prep School 2010-2011

Canterbury 5-0 over Rye Country Day School on Wednesday. Rye only had 8 players at the game...couple more than that on their roster....... Surprised by lack of recruiting and player interest at such a nice school and location. Maybe because it is a day school..... but so is Greenwich Academy and they don't seem to have a problem as they have a competitive program.

Re: New England Girls Prep School 2010-2011

Has Milton improved that much? Did the Seawolves struggle?

Milton looked faster than what I remember from previous years. I didn't take time to look at a roster (too busy kabitzing with old friends, blah, blah, blah) but there were definitely a couple of noteworthy players wearing blue and orange.

Milton benefitted from two flukey goals, one that ricocheted off a defenseman's skate 3 feet in front of the crease, and another shot from behind the net that the Tabor goalie tried to deflect and somehow how it found it's way behind her. Other than these two tough breaks, I thought the Tabor goalie played well.

Tabor owned flow overal by I'd say.... 2/3 to 1/3, but Milton definitely made the most of their 1/3. Shots were probably closer percentage wise, at say 60%-40%. The first period ended 0-0, and flow in that period perhaps favored Milton a little. Conversely, the third period seemed like it was heavily dominated by Tabor.

Canterbury 6-1 over Greenwich Academy..........nice to see G.A. finally playing at Brunswick....nice rink

Re: New England Girls Prep School 2010-2011

Yesterday Taft beat Lawrenceville 2-1. Today Choate beat them 11-0.
Looking forward to Nobles next weekend, and Westy any time in the future.
Go Boars.

Big tilt in Dedham tomorrow night as well. Rebuilding Nobles should have their newbies tested by the loaded up Seawolves from Tabor.

Re: New England Girls Prep School 2010-2011

Nobles newbies did just fine tonight. 3-0 with an empty netter. I missed most of the 1st period, but Nobles was already up 1-0, then I saw Nobles pretty well dominate play in the second period with speed, speed and more speed. Little Laing was a treat to watch..... like watching her sister from four years ago. Third period, Seawolves were much more intense, really brought a lot of action around the Nobles goal, but Ms. Blake was up to the task to earn her shutout.

Gotta tip your hat to the 'dogs!
