The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
If you look at the box score for Saturday night's game at NU, it shows as 2204 (sellout). We know if somebody walked in with $8.00 in hand they'd have gotten a standing room ticket and made it 2205. There are no sellouts at Kreitzberg, but they are reported as sellouts when the attendance is more than 2000 or so. I expect the situation is similar at Bowdoin.
The Bowdoin sell-outs were established well before the games - the tickets sold out immediately for both the semis and the finals and it was announced the no more would be sold. Bowdoin doesn't have any reserved seats so maybe they dont want to go crazy selling too many spots over the seating capacity . .
If Bowdoin can play like they played Sunday (minus the "over" excitement that results in getting the sticks up too high or other penalties) then they have a great shot at getting to Lake Placid. [...] Kudos again to the Bowdoin SID, rink staff, students and community...it was an amazing hockey environment. Got to briefly meet a family member of Sid Watson and he commented how his Dad would have really enjoyed this contest, if not necessarily the outcome!
Thank you, WillieC, for your sportsmanship and your kind words about Bowdoin College and the Bowdoin family. You're a classy guy.
The Bowdoin/Milddlebury final was Division III hockey at its best. The Polar Bears and the Panthers have different styles, but both teams are very skilled, skate and check very well, and are guided by intense, creative coaches, who have deep knowledge of and passion for the game. Middlebury and Bowdoin will represent NESCAC well in the national tournament.
Is there any clarity on Middlebury's Drolet and if his injury in Sunday was serious? Is he good to go for this weekend? Also, Svoboda looked like he was injured late in the Trinity game Saturday and did not dress for the Bowdoin game- any status update on him?
