NESCAC 2016-2017 season

Re: NESCAC 2016-2017 season

According to Post's website, Bowdoin will be playing Stevenson at the Codfish Bowl at UMass-Boston on January 2nd, with the winner taking on the winner of the UMass-Boston vs. Post game on the 3rd. It does't appear on that NESCAC schedule.

Looking at what the NESCAC put up it covers the conference schedule but does not include complete schedules for the individual's non-conference play. The Middlebury schedule lists 20 games (16 NESCAC and Adrian twice, Stevenson and Norwich) leaving 4 non-conference contests to be filled in (assume the Panther-Cardinal games and I am guessing Plattsburgh and Endicott or Castleton).

Re: NESCAC 2016-2017 season

wow...tough blow for Colby. They could really, really struggle this year....3 coaches in 3-4 years?

What's going on there to have such frequent turnover? Why did she leave this late or is this just an unconfirmed rumor? If it's not a rumor did she find a D1 job or maybe Elmira?

Coach Venditti left after 9 seasons ('04-'05 through '12-'13) and was replaced by Coach Michaeles who stayed 3 seasons ('13-'14 through '15-'16).

Right...[my point is that the current senior class was recruited by Venditti...before he bailed on them....and this season hasn't even started yet and that group will have already seen 3 coaches in their time at Colby]. That team was already pretty challenged based on their record last season...looks like Wesly may have company this year.

Re: NESCAC 2016-2017 season

We still must wait several more weeks for NESCAC play (with the big early season Middlebury@Trinity and Conn College@Amhe)rst action), but there will be 19 DIII games/exhibitions this weekend. Any thoughts? Looks like Superior@Bethel is the marquee matchup. Best to all players, coaches, refs, parents and plain old fans while we are all still friends!

Re: NESCAC 2016-2017 season

Great way to start the NESCAC viewing season watching Middlebury defeat Trinity 2-1 in overtime! Terrific goal play at both ends in a game featuring wide swings in flow and momentum. More thoughts by morning.
