NDSU Bison

Re: NDSU Bison

Not surprising the Bison are ranked number 1 followed by the team they beat in the championship game Illinois St. Bison open at Montana on ESPN with Brent Musburger doing the play by play.

That's Musburger's backyard.

How's the five-peat looking?

Well they lost a ton on the defensive side of the ball but basically have everyone back on the offensive side except for running back Crockett. Team may have to outscore teams for the first 4-5 games until the D can get it's feet on the ground. During the spring game the offense made the defense look pretty silly for the most part. Montana will be a **** good test right off the bat.

Carson Wentz QB North Dakota State 6’6” 235
•2014 Stats: 228-358 (63.7%) 3111 YDS 25 TD 10 INT passing, 642 YDS 4.7 AVG 6 TD rushing, 1 REC 16 YDS 1 TD receiving

As a first-year starter last season, Wentz led the Bison to a fourth consecutive FCS championship, and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the title game. A tall, pocket quarterback prospect, Wentz has a strong right arm, and the mobility to buy himself time and make plays with his feet. The fifth-year senior has emerged as an early favorite of draft analysts, and could work his way into the second or third round range with another strong season.

Re: NDSU Bison

That was a hell of a first half of FCS football in Missoula. 28-21 Bison. Wentz with 2 rushing and 2 throwing touchdowns.

Re: NDSU Bison

Congrats to Montana and one hell of a final drive on last play to beat the Bison 38-35. One hell of a game to start the season. Bison offense went flat in the second half and the Griz had a lot to do with that

Re: NDSU Bison

I wonder how much the smoke played into things. I know Montana cancelled practice once due to air conditions, but they still probably held some practices in the poor conditions.

They cancelled all local high school games Friday night but with ESPN there it had to be extremely bad for them to call off this one. I'm sure it was an advantage for Montana since they have practiced in it. Home field advantage in a different way I guess.

Re: NDSU Bison

Lolol. The excuses just get better and better.

It's tough to accept that the offense just started choking - not on the smoke- and that it usually starts with the QB. They'll just have to find a way to upgrade the position net year for their league-sandbagging efforts.

Gotta love the hate. Thought you fellas didn't care about the Bison but being 4 time champs will do that when they lose for the 4th time in 4 seasons. By the way the QB suffered a high ankle sprain. In a walking boot. And as far as making excuses I made none. Usually when a team plays in a higher altitude compared to a flat lander team they will have a bit of an advantage. Smoke or no smoke. Keep hating boys. The drive for five is far from dead.
