Ncha 10-11

Re: Ncha 10-11

Just to chime in a bit. As a parent I know I can not make every game. Home games are 1150 miles away and I managed to see all but 2 this year. I am used to not seeing all the games but when you are told there will be video and you get pumped to watch then there isn't any you feel extremely disappointed. When you then go to live stats and you get scores and updates quicker from the NCHA site you tend to get a bit cranky. Just saying!

Once again, **** happens in live broadcasts, get over it.

UWRF has produced many great professionals from their radio and TV broadcasting program. I used to work with one of the best local TV news reporters in the world(he has the awards and he teaches all over the world) and he's a graduate from the program. I also spent a couple weeks at UWRF, err, the River Falls bars and parties when I was working to complete a degree. The school wasn't for me, but they do have some great programs there.

I was not knocking the programs or the school. I was just stating some disappointment. I do believe people are entitled to their feelings. It is sad to me you got so offended.

The school thing was meant towards other posters...Sorry about that.

great game good broadcast and FA is not a clown he knows a lot about the teams in the NCHA and keeps us informed on all he learns. Beside the fact I was a bit harsh and got what I deserved

First to anyone who was affected by apparent technical difficulties in the video, I would like to apologize. This is the first I have heard of any problems this weekend with hockey as I have been in Madison at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association student seminar and had am just finding out about the issues as I read this forum on our way home. It pained me to have to be gone this weekend but I was sure my radio broadcasters could handle themselves and provide good game coverage an opportunity they have all earned through their hard work in their first year (for all but one of them) working in our organization.

If there was a problem with broadcast quality I find it important to note that I have had the opportunity to call games for two years and hone my skills into what is hopefully an enjoyable broadcast while serving as an engineer for four. Everyone else to our staff with the exception of the color commentator from the first semifinal is in their first year doing this and they all have come a tremendous way from where they started this fall.

On the video side rec facilities hires their own video people and that feed then runs to the campus cable access channel and they stream it online through justin tv which is one of the best servers to do so but not immune to their own issues, so there is plenty of opportunity for difficulties there from the technical standpoint. I also know that the cable access director was also in Madison at his daughters state title game, a 3-2 4OT win so he was also unavailable.

We would love to provide an espn level product but we don't have the resources nor the professional experience among our student volunteers to do so. In the four years I have attended this university I have seen game coverage come along way on both the radio and tv sides and am proud to know I was a part of that. We try our best and every one of us strives to improve and put forth the highest quality product we can.
