I realize its not huge. I think its amazing for any freshman to be in the top 5, maybe 10 scorers in the conference though. I can only hope that Mason gets it. We all have seen too many freshman come out with a bang and then slump for the next 3 years.

I'm more shocked with Campbell not being there. She cannot get an all american now either. How does the best goalie on the best team not get All-Conference? 2 freshmen over a senior as well is surprising.

Yeah, that's kinda silly. I think they were looking more at numbers there. Those 2 freshman have huge save percentages. They're solid. Also, Cassi hasn't seen as much net time this season due to Joe having 3 good goalies to split time with.

I said before her lack of time is gonna be her downfall, i still can't see her not being there.

It does make the all american race a little more interesting. Depending on who else comes out of the MIAC i'd put Michelin in as 2nd team...based soley on the 8 shut outs.

Justice from GAC is a lock for 1st team now.

I like how River Falls has the teams results history against the oppenents listed in their schedule.

Most notably

River Falls is
4-13-2 against Gustavus
30-3-4 against Lake Forest
15-21-4 against Stevens Point
and 21-21-2 against Superior

Does the plus/minus mean anything at defense? Adrian has a player with a +15, and she didn't get honorable mention! Normally coaches would vote for a senior (Cambell over a freshman Michelin)if it was close. Being undefeated is pretty impressive!

I don't think +/- goes in to much as most teams don't keep that stat in their box scores

Predictions:

UWEC/CUW: CUW in minnie game. Maybe best series matchup?
LF/UWS: UWS in a very close series! Can UWS put some pucks in the net? How deep are they at D?
UWSP/Adrian: Know matchup, Adrian runs away with it! They are to physical for UWSP!
SNC/UWRF: Riverfalls stumbles, keeps there composure and moves on!

So how does the NHL select there top defenseman? Does a defenseman solely get voted for there points? If we make a big deal out of points for forwards, save pct. for goalies, what is the criteria for a top rated defensewoman?

this isn't the nhl. It's not just based on pts cuz kayla chilstrom is top scoring defensemen and not on theall ncha team. It's more based on what the coaches see

You need 3 points to advance. I tie and a win means you move on. If there are two ties or the teams split the two games, there is a 15 minute mini-game following Saturday night's game to decide the winner. If the teams are tied after 15 minutes, it's sudden death OT. It's gut wrenching. The NCHA men used to have this format for all rounds but did away with it for all but the 1st round maybe 8 years ago I'd guess. The NCAA Quarterfinals had this 2 game plus mini format as well up until 10 or 12 years ago. You get to see more hockey, but overall I'm not a big fan.

Adrian scores on a 5x3 pp to go up 1 -- 0 over Point, early in Period 1.
Now 2 -- 0; still in first.

I was thinkin about it...with the league policy if St Norbert were to beat River Falls and Adrian and Superior advance that the final four would be up in Superior next week

Concordia wins game 2 and the mini game as preditcted :) I didn't forsee the Superior/LFC mini game, but at least they made it through.

Sets up next weekends tournament in River Falls

#5 CUW vs #1 UWRF
#3 Superior vs #2 Adrian

I'll take River Falls over CUW and Superior in OT over Adrian :)
